The MoFo Top 100 of the 60s: Countdown

The thing isolated becomes incomprehensible
A countdown might get messy if we include that. If by popular vote it is included, I think it should just be people subtracting 50 points from one movie of their choice.
I totally disagree with that idea! Negative points would completely transfigure the general view of the whole forum about the decade/genre being voted which is kind of whole point...

Spartacus sucks, mainly because the story is a tad bit generic, predictable, and Kubrick wasn't given full control of movie. His editing and cinematography is there, but shining ideas aren't. For me, it just feels like another historic war movie that is very decent, but doesn't do anything to me.

Haven't seen Elmer Gantry.

And don't worry guys, I made sure 2001 and Strangelove are at least in the Top 30.

Yeah I didn't word that as well as I wanted to.

I'm against negative points but if by popular vote it is included, than at most it should be just that.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
Spartacus is alright, but way too high in my opinion.

Elmer Gantry is a movie I want to see thanks to Shirley Jones.

Love John Ford, love Liberty Valance, it was my #14. Spartacus is the only Kubrick film I haven't seen, from everything I've seen and read about it, it's hard for me to get excited about it, honestly. So one of these days I'll have to watch it at some point

Really have to watch Elmer Gantry as its the only film in Marks top 10 I haven't seen. Spartacus is pretty good but a weaker Kubrick IMO. Getting really worried about some of my list.

An idea for the next countdown, giving films negative points. I like that idea a lot.
A now-defunct site I used to belong to tried these coc*bloc*ing moves. It wasn't as fun as you imagine, and ultimately didn't do much, if anything, to effect the final outcome.

Great last set in Elmer Gantry and Spartacus, unfortunately the latter just missed the cut for my list. That makes 8 from my list now.
Seconds
Through a Glass Darkly
In Cold Blood
Belle de Jour
The Swimmer
Onibaba
Repulsion
Elmer Gantry

I'm expecting to see another 11 at least.
