and of course....Tom Jones

Top five women.....

This is really hard to keep it to five. There are so many great voices. I was really trying hard not to cheat Bri...but I couldn't help myself.

Edit: Seems the attachments won't let me attach my Jewel picture. Oh well.

The wonder that is Stevie Wonder!

Two more males then I'm going to do my top five female vocalists.

I am having a nervous breakdance
Oh, Stevie.. How could I forget Stevie.. Yes, he is indeed a wonder!

And I saw a documentary about James Brown yesterday night. That man is incredible too. It's impossible to sit still to his music. And what a voice!

They had temporarily escaped the factories, the warehouses, the slaughterhouses, the car washes - they'd be back in captivity the next day but
now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

I forgot to finish my lists so here are the rest of the men (Thought I would add some different ones to the ones already mentioned.) Women soon.

Good time boy Anthony Kiedis

The idol, Billy Idol

The People's Republic of Clogher
In no particular order:

Björk - Her speaking voice is just as good, like a cheeky Cockney Viking.

David Bowie - The Dame? Iconic and mannered.

Barney Sumner (New Order) - In my warped world he's the greatest Soul singer of his generation.

Sinéad O'Connor - As batty as Ms Guðmundsdóttir and just as technically adept in her own way.

David McComb (The Triffids) - Like a more mellow, pragmatic Nick Cave in both his singing and his writing. Which leads me to...

St Nicholas Cave - Bluesman, Revivalist preacher and baritone all in one.

Christy Moore - The best Irish-accented singing voice I know of.

Ronnie Drew (The Dubliners) - As above but the singing voice has been dulled by what seems like 3 packs of Woodbines. This ain't a criticism.

Kristin Hersh (Throwing Muses) - Fractured.

Kate Bush - The Yang to Bowie's unmistakeably English Ying.

Warren Zevon - Like an American Ronnie Drew, he sounded like I feel in the morning...

Bugger, I'm rambling now. I don't even have time for Mary Margaret O'Hara, Otis Redding, Peter Tosh, Mark Eitzel, Chuck D, Ian Curtis, Peter Tosh, John Lydon, Tracy Chapman, Prince or Peter Tosh...Arghhhh!
