Nope. Re-Releases of Disney movies are lame too. Let's all go see the Little Mermaid AGAIN! Even though we own it and have watched a million times, kids!

Yeah, Disney is pretty cynical about sequels... they're all planned as direct to video, so the lesser quality is basically planned.

I STILL gotta disagree with you, Sadesdrk. These releases make a lot of kids happy - kids who have NOT seen them in theatres before. Sure, you and I may have been around in '89, but not the target audience.

As for home video, The Little Mermaid is definitely worth seeing in the theatre!

I agree. The Little Mermaid is well worth seeing in the theater...the FIRST time. Anything over that...is overkill. Disney isn't hurtin' in the money department, support something else.

I never saw The Little Mermaid. Of course, I was 18 years-old when it came out. I wasn't exactly in the target demographic at that point (and though I had a child at that time, I never took him to the movies until Wayne's World.)
