This November 1st will be a landmark day for fans to celebrate the saga with two major releases in Star Wars home entertainment. The explosive and emotional finale to the saga, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, arrives on DVD.


Lucasfilm and Fox Home Entertainment present a two-disc set for the 'Revenge of the Sith' DVD, with uncompromising picture and sound mastered directly from the original digital source material. The DVD will include a brand-new full-length documentary produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. as well as two new featurettes -- one that explores the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One, and the other that looks at the movie's amazing stunts. A 15-part collection of Lucasfilm's groundbreaking web documentary series, Making Episode III, will also be included in the set. A two-level playable demo of "Star Wars Battlefront II" is also included on the DVD.


"Revenge of the Sith gave audiences an extraordinary experience, and we want this DVD to do the same," said Jim Ward, Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for Lucasfilm Ltd. "From the beginning of production, George wanted to be sure we chronicled everything that went into the making of Episode III specifically to create an incredible DVD experience. This DVD has literally been three years in the making, and it's going to be a fantastic way to complete the Star Wars saga at home."

In addition to its November 1st debut in the U.S. and Canada, Revenge of the Sith debuts on DVD in most major territories around the world on or about the same day.

Looks like Fox are chucking out the version of Alien VS Predator that they should have done to start off with:

I've read on another site that this new version will come in at 115mins, which if true should prove interesting as the extra scenes being added apparently don't make up the time to make the feature run to 115mins (footage not yet seen????).

Also (apparently) popping up in November is a directors cut of The Frighteners:

Jrs, a couple questions. Is the 2 disc set for Batman Begins only coming out for region 2 or will region 1 also get 2 discs?

And will there be a better Sin City dvd soon coming out as opposed to the mediocre one that they put out?

I love that unrated Land of the Dead art work I will definitly be picking that movie up the day it comes out.

And Jrs im confused The Book of the dead edition for Evil dead 2 is that region 1 because I know they made one for the first evil dead but I can't find it in any stores they just have plain dvd versions with no special features. So are these two region 1 or 2

actually jason i live here in the States i was asking because i can't find the Book of the dead at any stores here so i thought maybe because its only region 2

It was released in R1 a while ago as a Limited Edition, so perhaps it's out of print. And it's never been released in R2 until now.
