Survivor 2

Pigs taste better than dogs, though.

xboxfan (Brian): Actually, they showed Jeff looking a little upset, and then Rodger comforting Elizabeth, and then Elizabeth crying.

So that leaves Nick, Alicia, and Mike. There is a rumor that Mike comes back with burns on his hands (bandages)...I hope not! Mike's the coolest guy there.

I think it was Mike that ate the pig, I'll watch it tonight to see (it will be my first time watching it also)! Apparently, it was a drugged and sedated pig brought in specially so that he would even stand the slightest chance of killing it...so much for "survival" !!

That's pure rumor - I don't believe it. I don't think it's nuts to believe it is a plant (it might be, it might not), but I don't think they would go as far as to sedate it.

Mike has said that the chase/kill actually took roughly 2 hour, not five minutes, like on the show.

I missed the next week thing, but my friend told me about it. If the burns were true, the splashing was probably him running in to cool down his hands. I doubt it were a croc or anything serious.

I dunno, that pig did look pretty wierd, not like normal pigs...but then again, it could be just a rumor.

Actually, tonight was the first time I watched the series, and in all honesty, I didn't like it one bit! I think it was too commercialised, and has absolutely nothing to do with surviving (especially not in the Outback)! After living in the outback for weeks and weeks without any food but the stuff you catch yourself, I doubt that the women would look like supermodels in tight bikinis prancing around a beach!

By the way, did you know we don't have wild pigs in Australia?? Not even introduced ones!! Maybe it was brought in after all...

I think fishing, building fires, killing pigs and hauling what little water you have around is as much surviving as you're going to see on a TV show realistically.

And hey, if someone really is injured in the next episode: well, that makes it even rougher, doesn't it?

Oh and yes, it wasn't a pig per se: it's a boar, which is why it looked a bit different - bigger, black (not pink), and a bit wilder.

I know it has nothing to do with surviving, in a typical sense, but they have to survive the longest on the island to win the money, which is where the name comes from. I do like the name Expedition Robinson a bit more though. And from what my dad has seen of that show, it really was about surviving. They gave them nothing. Nothing at the begining, and nothing in the middle. I don't like how they always have rice to fall back on. I think they should only eat what they can catch. It would sure make the show alot more interesting.

Zephyrus: what do u mean "watched it tonight' The show is on on thursdays? u live in some different country? is it on a different day? its on tommorrow for me (thursday) i cant wait to see what happens, i'm in the west coast of the US so probably about when the showing starts here i'll go online and talk to east coast friends and find out what happened!

Yeah, I realised it was a boar (though I don't know why everyone calls it a pig )! You're probably right that it's as realistic as it gets on tv, but then again it isn't real enough! I don't know how far the season is in the US, but here they show the episodes on Wednesday nights, and the newest one was the boar killing and blood smearing one I live in Sydney, Australia.

I thought it was pretty good - obviously I had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen.

Oh, just so you all know: there is a rumor going around that Mike returns in Episode 8 - the rumor also includes what is apparently the name of the new, merged tribe. If the tribe name is shown to be correct next week, the probability of the Mike spoiler being correct is boosted!

I think the show will get stupid if they keep voting like this. Oh well, I didn't like Jeff anyway.

So was the name of the tribe the same?

Oh man, I loved tonight's episode so much. Was it entertaining? Only a little.

Right from the start they make it seem obvious that Jerri is going - the whole time I'm telling the other family members in the room not to be so sure - that I'm fairly sure Jerri is not going.

My reasoning? Mark Burnett very rarely makes it THAT obvious, *especially* this late in the game. Let's face it, it was edited to look like Jerri was going on purpose.

Now, Burnett knows that people hate Jerri more than they thought possible, so if I had to pick someone next week, it might be Jerri. Angry people will watch because of their anger, but not for too long, so she has to go.

When that last vote was called, I stood up and yelled - I called it! Mwahahahaha. I told them all - the fools did not listen! Haha.

I thought pretty much the same thing. I wanted Jerri to go, but the way they set it up just made it seem to obvious it wasn't going to happen. I'm just glad it wasn't Elisabeth that went!

I'm not sure what episode we're on here in Oz, are we all watching the same thing? The last I saw tonight was a vote between Colby and the other guy (I think it was Jim)...? I think I was hooked by this night's episode, when I watched them all standing on those piles in the middle of the lake...unbelievable how far human endurance will go!!

MovieForums Extra
Cool, so we're all watching the same stuff then! Usually the US is a whole season or three ahead of us, or in such cases as Survivor 2, a few episodes at least! You know, they had to have a special double episode feature to catch up last week...it's on Wednesdays usually, and the episode where Jeff got kicked off was the special on Thursday

I too am glad Elizabeth didn't go!

MovieForums Extra
Damn, they voted Alicia off, that's pretty crap! She would have kicked all their butts if she didn't have everyone turning on her!

I'm actually starting to think that Keith might win this? He sure is getting immunity a lot...

In Soviet America, you sue MPAA!
Success! Elisabeth stayed!

I didn't really like this episode though, too predictable. The way they said Nick needed the immunity to live etc etc gave it away that he was going to win, and then the whole Elisabeth is the strongest she will deffinetely be the next to go, made it a little obvious she wasn't going. Oh well, glad Jerri is gone, and even more glad Elisabeth is still there. Yea Chris knows what I'm talking about!
