Pokemon Detective Pikachu does the impossible.

It broke the streak. It's the first fresh video game movie on Rotten Tomatoes, even if it is 64%. Let's hope for similar thing to happen with the upcoming Minecraft, Metal Gear Solid, Mario and Angry Birds 2.

It looks weird to me, particularly since Pikachu is able to talk and has an adult voice unlike we've seen before.

Critics say it should be weirder. It is live-action Pokemon after all.

I'm hearing somewhat of a consensus among people I listen to that without Ryan Reynolds, this movie would be very average.

It's actually really funny and the best part of the movie. Everything else is just predictable fan service.

So basically the reason why this movie is taking off well, is because of Ryan Reynolds and not because it's a Pokemon movie.

Nice to hear. I enjoyed it. I'd give it a 6/10, a solid kids movie.
