Following the success of Bohemian Rhapsody and the high anticipation for the upcoming Elton John biopic Rocketman, it was inevitable that Hollywood would begin financing biopics on legendary rock stars, and who bigger a rock icon than the King of Rock 'n Roll himself, Elvis Presley.
Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann who directed such classics as Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, and The Great Gatsby will helm the film.
Set to play Elvis's manager Colonel Tom Parker is none other than Tom Hanks, which should gain the project much interest among some high profile actors in the casting circuit.
Luhrmann is still searching for an actor to play Elvis.
