If you could reboot any TV show on your own, what would it be?

And I mean you could make it anyway you want.

I've dreamed if doing my own version of X-Men shortly after I saw the first movie when I was eight. I'd stay true to the darkness, but keep none of the cheese of the original cartoon.

The Brady Bunch

Speaking of the X-Men: I'd reboot the franchise to follow the original comics publication - starring the original 5 students (Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast & Iceman). Simultaneously, we'd follow the early lives & origins of the "New X-Men" at various places around the world (Colossus, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Sunfire & Banshee)... ultimately having the newer characters crossover with the original team and ultimately join them.

I thought Joan of Arcadia and Tru Calling were really interesting concepts and I enjoyed the shows. Both only lasted 2 seasons. It would be interesting to see a sequel/reboot/remake of those two shows.

The Adventure Starts Here!
Do I have to want to change things, or just continue them? Because if I just want to continue it but keep it in the same vein and feel, I'd easily choose HBO's Carnivale and also then Firefly.

I was so sad when The Comeback and Enlightened ended. I could have watched more of both shows on HBO.

The Lexx. The special effects in the original or horrible. The show lacked confidence and poise, so it dipped a bit into Showtime After Dark Cheesecake. The writing had some interesting ideas, but was raw. The acting and directing wasn't great. The show was an interesting mix quirky and dark, however, with an amusing premise of dimwits actually commanding the most power weapon in the two universes.

Star Trek Enterprise

I'd bring it back so that the first new episode would completely undo the last episode of the series.
Using time travel (Archer & the Enterprise crew probably time traveled more than any other ST series) they'd go back in time and prevent Trip's death (as revealed in the last episode)... then continue on with more missions.

Or they could just have somebody get those subspace parasites in their cerebral cortex (as Archer once did)... where, if you destroy them in the future you also destroy them in the past which resets the whole temporal chronometer to a new starting point that begins before the brain bugs were ever contracted!

Or they find "Sim's" body in space (Sim was a clone of Charles "Trip" Tucker) and resuscitate it, using a leftover portion of the now-deceased Trip's brain which originally was taken from Sim to save Trip's live - and Sim takes Trip's place as the new Trip!

The Sim episode was one of my favorites. In ST Voyager they did what you suggested. With one of the crew members dying and then replaced by an identical from an alternative time line. I won't tell you who or what, you just have to watch Voyager one of these days.

Enterprise was a wasted opportunity.

I did watch most of Voyager in its first run - but it was so long ago I've forgotten most of the episodes.

They had 10 ways to Sunday to undo anything that happened... usually using time travel.
One episode had the biggest cop-out of all: the whole thing was a "dream" Hoshi had while being transported. Archer is even killed at the end of the Xindi arc... only to once again somehow be transported through time to WWII before returning to the Enterprise, which itself returns to their normal time.

Just one of the many problems with time-travel. The stakes can always be deflated.

I would lover to destroy the final season and then continue with the HBO series Oz.
Never could get into this show.

I want a sequel series to 3rd Rock. We have got to see how Dick and the others act when they return to Earth with all this new tech, and what they could possibly say/misconstrue about modern culture. Just imagine an episode with Dick cancelling everybody! I already see a scene in my head of him looking in a mirror and cancelling himself because he got a shaving cut.

Also...that moment when you realize you can probably take a show you don't necessarily like and "lore" the shit out of it as a reboot for an older generation. I honestly think if anyone approached me to make a grittier reboot of Dragon Tales, I would, because what little I remember of it is something I know I can twist around in the wacky-ass Jed Overstreet way.

I would like to see more Hornblower stuff with Ioan Gruffudd as the later in life captain. Plenty of material to still cover. The books are already written. Special effects are only better. Make a Master and Commander type movie with Hornblower.

I'd like to catch up with House in a miniseries. OK, Wilson is long dead. You're legally dead. What the hell have you been up to, Dr. House? Is he raving homeless hobo strung out on drugs? Is he living under a new identity and distracting himself with new puzzles? Did he get into cryptography? Is he a sort of P.I.? Is he a mayor? Teaching at a Junior College? A chef in a Michelin Star restaurant? Or did he leave the country entirely? Is he practicing medicine under a false name in some faraway land? And why is the world finding him again? Is one of his old colleagues in trouble? Has his false identity been found out with House arrested? Is he desperately need to consult on some case, resulting in the state department picking him up?
WARNING: "Finale Spoilers" spoilers below
Or has he just been paroled from prison for faking his death?
We could catch up with him, have some old associates confront him, help him, judge him, get closure etc. And we could have House face his life and legacy.

Gruffudd was so hot in Hornblower. Loved the show. Now he looks like he’s been through the mill somewhat. His divorce-proceedings-from-hell don’t help I am guessing. So I think I’m ok with how Hornblower ended.

That actually fits, though. In the first book, Hornblower is older, losing some hair, and fighting a bit of chubbiness. He's supposed to be a bit of a dork. Although "Horatio Hornblower" sounds like a porn title, his character is not supposed to be spank bank material, but a neurotic introvert who finds a way to triumph (at war with himself more than anything else). We don't really find him comfortable in his own skin until the last book in which he's finally done so much winning in life that he concludes, at long last, that he doesn't suck after all.

For eye candy, I'm sure they could always add a few midshipmen and Forester always contrives a way to get a lady or two on board.
