What did you think of Boogie Nights? I LOVED it! I love PT Anderson. GO Magnolia! . Anyways, some of my friends hated it, but me like. Also, did anyone see PT Anderson's Hard Eight? If so, what that any good?

Boogie Nights is an incredible journey through the 70s and early 80s, set in the world of pornography. It's similar to the Godfather in that it is actually a film about family life hidden in a seedy world.

Julianne Moore and Burt Reynolds play the surrogate Mom and Dad. Mark Wahlberg and Heather Graham play their kids. And John C Reilly, Luis Guzman and Don Cheadle are the cousins who visit all the time.

The acting is incredible. Wahlberg's acting when his mother rejects him as a failure is dynamite. Reynolds displays great nobility, but there is an explosive anger underneath after his art form is transferred to the amateurish video, seen when Heather Graham is almost raped. And Philip Seymour Hoffman is amazing in a small part, but that's just common place for him.

Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the finest potentials behind the camera in Hollywood. Scorsese's natural successor, I think. There's a lot of influences to his work. I love the moving camera shots and his writing, while sometimes raw, has a great deal of power.

In Soviet America, you sue MPAA!
I think it's one of the best movies of the 1990's.

It's a terrific movie, and one of its year's best, but I think Magnolia is superior; I'm probably the only one who does. Actually, where's dillane? She likes it better, I think. In any case, Boogie Nights is a great movie, and Magnolia's a greater one.

I love how Mark's "member" is kept a secret until the end of the movie. It is so damn funny it goes down to his freakin knees. HAHAHAHA. It reminds me of Jaws and how the monster was kept hidden to build up suspense. Man that movie is funny at some parts. I love PT and I think that Boogie Nights is his best even though Magnolia has that Amy Mann song. I think it is called "Save Me".

I think this movie is over-exaggerated but it's probably just me. I liked the movie, it showed the transitions between the porn industries and how they shifted during the 70s and 80s. It's funny to see what was that guy's name, I forget but his wife was a porn star and she would f*ck every single time he saw her. The acting was brilliant especially by Burt Reynold, Julianne Moore and Mark Wahlberg. The other thing I liked about the movie was that it demonstrated the difficulties as a porn star trying to earn a different job. They refer to themselves as actors not "adult porn stars", like Traci Lords who hates being called a former "Porn star" lol.

"Boogie Nights" is a good movie but it's not all that superb, just good enough to get an extra look at what the business is like and its dose of entertainment.

The last year or so, Ms. Lords has further attempted to mainstream by now billing herself as Traci Elizabeth Lords - like that's going to make us forget she's been sucking and fu*king on camera since she was a teenager.

That she has. But you have to give the girl credit, I'm not sure if she planned it from the begginning, but she made one of the most brilliant career moves I've ever heard of.
She made plenty of adult films, for most of them she got paid peanuts, and had no profitsharing or royalties and rental checks. But when she turned 18, Traci Lords revealed that all of those films were made when she was under age. They got yanked from the shelves, and for the most part were destroyed. But she was still a big adult film star, so after all her under age movies got yanked, she had established herself as a huge porn star with, and get this, no videos legally sold of her. So from that point on she only made movies where she owned the rights, and got all sorts of fat cash.

So still a porn starlette, but certainly not a dumb one.

Well, whether or not she's dumb I won't make a conclusion, but she does have a certain business savvy, you do have to give her that. You especially have to give her that if she's wearing leather chaps and bent over a chair with a ball-gag in her mouth, and she'll take it, too...the little tramp.
