This is an interesting film on a few levels. The main level that I like is how he has the protagonist played by actress Sydne Rome find herself brutally dropped off on a highway above a villa that has many different chalets on a hillside, where after climbing down over a wall, she apparently tries to find help among the people there and ends up just having long conversations with its denizens.

There's two things I like about the way Polanski handles the movie: one of them is that he doesn't bother to try to explain to the viewer what's going on -- he just proceeds with the action and questions continue to linger and never get answered about why she's there and what she's doing etc.

Secondly and amusingly, throughout most of the movie while she's going from one chalet to the other and having different conversations and interactions with people she's topless -- and nobody adverts to it, no one calls attention to it, it just remains unremarked as though it's perfectly normal!
