"""" Hulk Smashhhh."""
It's more over the top silly for sure
I thought so. I'll probably catch it at some point because i've already seen the first 2 movies.

"Banshee is the greatest thing ever. "

The character is strong enough for another solo movie, but it does have to be done differently. I love The Hulk in The Avengers, and Ruffalo can certainly make a solo Hulk movie interesting.
I think there's no question that the Hulk is a strong character, it's just that the strength of the character is also its flaw. The problem with the Hulk is that as soon as Bruce becomes him, the humanity is gone yet it's the Hulk that people want to see.

If you have too much of Bruce Banner and not enough of the Hulk, it becomes boring. If you have too little of Bruce Banner and too much of the Hulk, you lose the humanity. Maybe if they strike the right balance they could pull it off but it has proven to be a challenge for past attempts at solo Hulk films.

Batman Returns
Directed By: Tim Burton

The Story
This movie is "Dark"- very very dark. Infact; It's that dark it makes Batman vs Superman look like a bright summers day. The whole story is like something out of a horror movie with deranged characters, and a very haunted looking Gotham City. Infact, this movie is kind of f***** up in a very fascinating way. After watching both Batman and Batman Returns back to back over the weekend it was quite a surreal experience. Both movies are excellent, but both are very different. Infact; there worlds apart. Burton's first Batman movie was more grounded. Gotham City looked more like a normal city. And the story was more believable, well kind off. Now... fast forward 3 years and Gotham City now looks like a winter wonderland. This Batman movie felt alot more fantasy. It had more of a Tim Burton stamp on it... I half expected Edward Scissor Hands to pop out from behind a bush if i'm honest.

The Cast
The cast are fantastic. Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Christopher Walken are exceptional. And their characters are probably the most interesting and bizzare creations to ever come from a comic book movie. The Penguin looks like he came straight from a Wes Craven movie. Catwoman is one of the sexiest movie chacters of all time. And Max Shreck is just.... well evil. Michael Keaton is great as Batman again, but i felt like the movie was more focused on the three villains than it was on him.

Movie Trivia: Warner Bros. had to constantly submit new Catwoman posters for various cities as many of the bus stop ads were being stolen. It got so bad that police officers had to patrol bus stops in order to catch perpetrators before they could break the Plexiglas containers. Today the large scale Catwoman bus ads are worth a great deal of money.

According to casting director Marion Dougherty, Tim Burton was reportedly uncomfortable with casting Christopher Walken as Max Shreck. When she asked him why he said, "Because that man scares the hell out of me." However, the decision must have ultimately grown on Burton, as Walken was cast again in Burton's Sleepy Hollow (1999).

The production wanted to use King Penguins but the only tame ones in captivity were at a bird sanctuary in the Cotswolds deep in the English countryside. So the birds were flown over to the States in the refrigerated hold of a plane, they were given their own refrigerated trailer, their own swimming pool with half a ton of fresh ice every day, and had fresh fish delivered daily straight from the docks. Even though the temperature outside frequently topped 100 degrees, the entire set was refrigerated down to 35 degrees. The birds also had a round-the-clock bodyguard. Clearly the birds enjoyed the experience as, following their stint in Hollywood, most of them had mated and produced eggs - the sure sign of a contented penguin.
Movie Highlight
My movie highlight would have to be the movie as a whole. I love the cast, the chacters, and the story. I love the whole look and feel to this movie. I love how crazy and how dark and haunting this movie looks. I love how Tim Burton wern't affraid to hold back and completly transformed Gotham City Into a fantasy land with crazy villains and bonkers action.

Verdict
Overall Batman Returns is a fantastic movie. Some may even argue its the best Batman movie to date, which i wouldn't disagree on. Both Christopher Nolan and Tim Burton delivered two very different versions of the caped crusader; both are fantastic in their own way, and both are exceptional movies that i probably couldn't pick apart.

Master of My Domain
I love the first Burton Batman movie, and consider it an all-time favorite, but I haven't seen Batman Returns. The frequent negative receptions made me avoid it, but your review is convincing. I'll watch it someday.

You should really check it out Gatsby. Its better than the 1989 Batman.

What i found strange was The Hulk (2003) sucked. People hated it and the movie was quite a flop, so what do they do?. They remake it; but stick to the same type story.

I hated Batman Returns and despite the violence and darkness it was mostly over the top silly and cheesy as hell. It was like a bloated Burton with no control and I just didn't click with it.

But awesome you liked it, Optimus!

I question your taste MM.

The Lost Boys
Directed By: Joel Schumacher

The Story
If you ever want a movie to remind you have how camp or how cheesy the 1980's was, then The Lost Boy's is just that. This movie has aged terribly. In fact, watching it now makes you realise just how crazy this movie was. Terrible outfits, bad hair styles, and some very camp soundtracks leave you feeling like you have just walked out of a gay bar. Because believe me; this movie is gay, actually its very very gay. Its sort of reminds me of a 1980's porno, you know the one's right?. The guy's with the big hairy backs, and the little moustaches doing there thing to some dodgy little soundtracks. Well that sums up the gayness of this movie right there. Now before you think i don't i like this movie, and dispite all of the above, i actually do, i love it. It has great horror, humour, campness, silliness, even gayness, but there things that all add to the fun of The Lost Boy's. And even tho its aged, and is a little crazy, its still one of the coolest movies around.

The Cast
The cast are fantastic. And even tho this movie has its moments of horror, it also has it moments of comedy thanks to the Frog brothers, played by Cory Feldman and Jamison Newlander. They add a little adventure to the movie, and remind me of characters out of the Goonies. A young Kiefer Sutherland is excellent as David, and his character really brings out the horror in this movie. To be fair, the whole cast is great. And even tho they may look bad, they also look great; if that makes any sense at all.

Movie Trivia: This was Corey Haim and Corey Feldman's first film together, which marked the start of a popular 80s trend "The Two Corey's" in which Corey Feldman and Corey Haim starred together in a number of teenage films.

Executive producer Richard Donner originally intended to direct the movie himself, but as production languished, he moved onto Lethal Weapon (1987) and eventually hired Joel Schumacher for the job.

The Lost Boys was filmed in only 3 weeks. Kiefer Sutherland was originaly reluctant to star in it until he heard that the director had lined up INXS and Jimmy Barnes to sing some of the songs on the soundtrack. Kiefer had spent a summer in Australia when he was a child and became fans of their music.

Even though Star is a half vampire, we never see her vampire face
Movie Highlight
My movie highlight would have to be the ending. Its great fun, and its like Home Alone with vampires. There's a great little twist which i didn't see coming, well i did because i've seen it before, but you know what i mean. There are lots of positive things i could highlight about this movie, but i won't ramble on.

Verdict
Overall The Lost Boy's is a great 80's movie, and one of my favourite vampire movies out there. It has an awesome cast, great humour, and a little horror. It may be a little dated now, but its still one heck of a movie. Its like one big gay pride event .

"""" Hulk Smashhhh."""
Home Alone with vampires?

What next: a Hannah Barbara shared universe...Oh. Wait. That was announced today.
Yeah haha, i just meant the ending when the teens set the little booby traps for the vampires.

Pain And Gain
Directed By: Michael Bay

The Story
The story is loosley based on true events in Miami in the early 1990's. The story follows 3 roided up gym heads who kidnap and extortion some rich guy who's pretty much one of the biggest Di**** around. Now i say loosley because i don't know exactly how true these events are. I find it hard to imagine that the story happened the way the movie portrays it, but it is Michael Bay so you should expect nothing less. Anyway, the story whether its true or not is great fun. It has its moments of madness, and some moments are hillarious. Its got all your typical Michael Bay stamps - but it is still one of his better movies out there. (Which is not saying much really).

The Cast
The cast are great. Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, and Anthony (Falcon) Mackie are all great fun. The three of them are idiots, and i mean IDIOTS. There are some really funny moments that have these guys in some hillarious situations. Now ime not to sure if Pain And Gain is a comedy, but it is one of the funniest movies that ive seen in a while anyway.

Movie Highlight
My movie highlight has got to be Dwayne Johnson (Paul Doyle). Now i know i praised The Rock above about his performance, but he is the reason i enjoyed this movie more than i probably should. His performance really was that funny. He's a juiced up, girlfriend swapping, cocain sniffing, soft idiot. And its made that much funnier because of his physical appearance. He's come a long way since hitting The Rock Bottom on monday night Raw.

Verdict
Overall Pain And Gain was actually pretty good. It was certainly better than i was expecting, and i didn't realise it would be so funny. Plus, it was nice to see Michael Bay try something different outside of giant robots.
You liked this movie a lot more than I did, but I will agree with you about one thing...Dwayne Johnson was the best thing about the movie.

"""" Hulk Smashhhh."""
Ant-Man
Directed By: Peyton Reed

The Story
Well i finally got around to watching Ant Man last night and i must admit i was pleasantly surprised. I had my doubts when this movie was first announced, partly because the whole concept is a little out there. I just couldn't see how they could make the whole story work, and then tie it into the Marvel universe. But to my amazement, they actually did it. The story is still a little out there with the whole "Ants" helping Ant Man thing going on, but i suppose thats how it went in the comic books right?. Another problem i had with ths movie was that it felt very small. And what i mean by that is, there's not much action untill the last 40 minutes or so. Plus when the action does come along, its knowhere near on the same level as some of the other marvel movies out there.

The Cast
The cast are great. I thought Michael Douglas delivered a very strong performance as Hank Pym (former Ant Man). And there is a CGI shot of him in the opening moments of the film looking very young. It's probably the best CGI shot in the film haha. Evangeline Lilly is as beautiful as ever, and ime glad to see she's becoming the Wasp. I've loved Evangeline Lilly ever since i first starting watching Lost, so it was great to see her star in this. Paul Rudd is awesome as Ant Man. I've been a fan of Rudd ever since he played Mike in Friends. I think he has the perfect style of humour to play Ant Man, and he certainly fits the whole Marvel Universe thingy.

Movie Trivia: Originally, the film was meant to focus on the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym. However, the filmmakers deemed Pym as having a too family-unfriendly history (Pym developed several split personalities, one of whom abused his girlfriend Janet) and instead decided to focus on Pym's successor Scott Lang, with Pym becoming a mentor and supporting character.

The Falcon's role in the plot came about after Adam McKay and Paul Rudd went to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and fell in love with the character. They casually suggested working him into the plot, and Kevin Feige informed them that it would actually make perfect sense since Falcon was now living at the New Avengers compound as of Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

According to Michael Douglas, the costume for Paul Rudd had to be altered because of his muscles. Rudd had gone on an extensive training and workout regimen in order to build the proper muscle size for a superhero, but Rudd had become so muscular, they had to soften his costume up.
Movie Highlight
My movie highlight would have to be when Ant Man and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) cross paths. It was a nice touch linking Ant Man with The Avengers. And it's a great little action scene watching them face off. This scene nailed it for me that Ant Man will do just fine on the screen with The Avengers in any future projects.

Verdict
Overall Ant Man was a pretty good movie. It's not up there with the likes of Iron Man, or Captain America The Winter Soldier, but it is still a great addition to the Marvel Universe. It offers a little action, great humour, and a very solid cast. I look forward to seeing more of Ant Man in the furure.

I wasn't interested in Ant-Man based on the trailer because I thought it looked silly. I'll still probably try it some night when I want some easy entertainment.

Haven't seen The Lost Boys in a few years, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is that dated. It was a great movie going experience when I first saw it, and I used to have the hots for that girl, Jamie Gertz.

I'm another who hasn't seen Batman Returns, but I've heard a lot of great things on this forum. One of these days.

I felt the same way after watching Ant-Man, but it's actually pretty good.

And please watch Batman Returns, its fantastic.

Of course you had the hots for Jamie Gertz, she was gorgeous.

Did you ever watch Less Than Zero? That, Sibbling Rivalry (which also had the pull of Kirstie Alley for me), Listen To Me. Hell, she's the only reason I watched Solarbabies (which must be obviously because it was awful, though I might prefer it now ) and that's among the worst kind of sci-fi for me. Post apocalyptic.
