I was curious so I tallied up the votes again, hope you don't mind, Chypmunk.
Lol, I don't mind at all Mija - and once again you are spot on

The Who - I Can't Explain
Ray Wylie Hubbard - The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Lindi Ortega - You Ain't Foolin' Me
Satoko Ishimine - the end of the world (cover)
*Zed Yago - The Pale Man
*Dogkennel Hill - Drink
*R.E.M. - Star Me Kitten

* ties kindly broken by cricket

Ties that need breaking:
A Tribe Called Red - Stadium Pow Wow vs Zed Yago - The Pale Man
Dogkennel Hill - Drink vs Yaeji - Passionfruit
Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth vs R.E.M. - Star Me Kitten

ROUND 1 - DAY 4

Suede - Animal Nitrate vs Container 47 - Razor End Falling
Suede isn't my type of music but at least they do seem to have a clear vision while Container 47's song is just a huge monotonous lump.

Patti Smith - Nine vs Massive Attack - Safe From Harm
Both are pretty decent but I don't like those spoken parts in MA so my vote goes to Patti.

16 horsepower - Coal Black Horses vs Goldie - Inner City Life
Didn't like either that much but Goldie's background sounds like it's having a spasm.

Nogizaka46 - Influenza vs All Them Witches - Right Hand
Both are kinda fine but first is a tad too generic.

Nordman - Vandraren vs X Japan - Week End
I've tried to listen X Japan few times before but never got into it. Vandraren on the other hand is great folk-pop song.

Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts vs Gyptian - Hold You
Second one has some good stuff in it, first one doesn't.

G-Schmitt - LSD vs Ihsahn - Mass Darkness
Ihsahn is one the great talents that emerged from the early Norwegian black metal scene. LSD, while decent, can't beat great music.

Björk - Human Behaviour vs The Almanacs - Side by Side
First three Björk albums are some of the best pop albums ever. The other one is horrible.

ROUND 1 - DAY 4

Suede - Animal Nitrate vs Container 47 - Razor End Falling
Not a big fan of Brett's whine but I do like AN as a song, I lurve 'monotonous lumps' though

Patti Smith - Nine vs Massive Attack - Safe From Harm
Big MA fan so not really fussed which goes through but love Patti too so I'll stay loyal to mine here

16 horsepower - Coal Black Horses vs Goldie - Inner City Life
Easy enough choice for me, not mad into that Goldie track

Nogizaka46 - Influenza vs All Them Witches - Right Hand
Second is just far more my type of jam - did prefer the first visually though

Nordman - Vandraren vs X Japan - Week End
Second was ok but fairly easy choice for me here

Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts vs Gyptian - Hold You
Relatively easy decision for me in this one

G-Schmitt - LSD vs Ihsahn - Mass Darkness
Quite enjoyed the first, second was ok too

Björk - Human Behaviour vs The Almanacs - Side by Side
Nothing wrong with the second but can't compete with good Björk for me

R1D4

Container 47 - Razor End Falling
definitely my jam far more tham suede

Patti Smith - Nine
Patti Overkill. If look by previous pattern likely the kind of song and artist that'll get into final round

16 horsepower - Coal Black Horses
Not really like the vocal tho'

Nogizaka46 - Influenza
In "normal" circumstances i probably will choose those All Them Witch - but nogi's girl clearly need my loyal vote, even after i twisted the title xD

X Japan - Week End
Easy peasy

Gyptian - Hold *
not mine type of stuff so either is fine

G-Schmitt - LSD*
Nice match. Nihonjin post punk is more of my jam tho' - syoko's rule!

The Almanacs - Side by Side
Haha i wonder why. It's just make me smile

Going through from R1D3:
Broadcast - Come on Let's Go
The Who - I Can't Explain
Ray Wylie Hubbard - The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Lindi Ortega - You Ain't Foolin' Me
Satoko Ishimine - the end of the world (cover)

Ties that need breaking:
A Tribe Called Red - Stadium Pow Wow vs Zed Yago - The Pale Man
Dogkennel Hill - Drink vs Yaeji - Passionfruit
Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth vs R.E.M. - Star Me Kitten
A Tribe Called Red - Stadium Pow Wow vs Zed Yago - The Pale Man-I thought the first was a commercial when it started, and then the whole thing sounded like a commercial. The video for the second did it no favors so I tried not to watch. Decent song I thought, keeping in mind most of these are probably not my taste.

Dogkennel Hill-Drink vs Yaeji - Passionfruit-I liked both of these.

Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth vs R.E.M. - Star Me Kitten-I generally hate R.E.M. but I didn't like the other song either.

Many thanks crick, really is appreciated!

ROUND 1 - DAY 4

Suede - Animal Nitrate vs Container 47 - Razor End Falling
Dug the second. It reminded me a bit of Chrome.

Patti Smith - Nine vs Massive Attack - Safe From Harm
Bother great songs, but the edge goes to Patti this time.

16 horsepower - Coal Black Horses vs Goldie - Inner City Life
That Goldie track brings back some memories of driving the city outskirts at night...awesome ****. But I love the energy of 16 Horsepower. It kinda does something to me.

Nogizaka46 - Influenza vs All Them Witches - Right Hand
I love the second song. It's in my current loop of "must hear every day" songs at the moment.

Nordman - Vandraren vs X Japan - Week End
Never liked Nordman.

Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts vs Gyptian - Hold You
The first was a little more my kinda thing than the second.

G-Schmitt - LSD vs Ihsahn - Mass Darkness
Really enjoy a bit of Ihsahn. I liked the first one too.

Björk - Human Behaviour vs The Almanacs - Side by Side
I liked the creepiness of the second, but I love Björk...

Weird is relative.
ROUND 1 - DAY 4

Suede - Animal Nitrate *vs* Container 47 - Razor End Falling

Patti Smith - Nine *vs* Massive Attack - Safe From Harm
This was a nice Patti Smith tune, I'll listen to it again.

16 horsepower - Coal Black Horses *vs* Goldie - Inner City Life

Nogizaka46 - Influenza *vs* All Them Witches - Right Hand
The girls and their outfits were cute, and I always appreciate choreographed dancing.

Nordman - Vandraren *vs* X Japan - Week End
Rather liked this.

Kids See Ghosts - Kids See Ghosts *vs* Gyptian - Hold You
The first was a little too weird even for Kanye. Guess he never stops surprising me.

G-Schmitt - LSD *vs* Ihsahn - Mass Darkness

Björk - Human Behaviour *vs* The Almanacs - Side by Side
Björk is such a cutie here.

Let the night air cool you off

ROUND 2 - DAY 1

Dogkennel Hill - Drink *vs* Chris Mills - Signal/Noise

The Who - I Can't Explain *vs* Broadcast - Come on Let's Go

Jason Lytle - Dept. Of Disappearance *vs* Máté Péter - Elmegyek

Black Widow - Way to Power *vs* Lana Del Rey - Bel Air

16 horsepower - Coal Black Horses *vs* Satoko Ishimine - the end of the world (cover)

Zed Yago - The Pale Man *vs* Patti Smith - Nine
This is a tough match because I like both, but the edge goes to Zed Yago because they're obscure, European, and from the '80s.

G-Schmitt - LSD *vs* Penetration - Life's A Gamble
Sure, I'd accept some LSD.

Ray Wylie Hubbard - The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse *vs* Cody Jinks - Whiskey Bent & Hell Bound

As one of the robots is having as much success as anyone in this tourney thus far it's probably a good time to explain how they selected their nominations .... basically each one Tatty (Tacitus), mark (mark f) and steve (Yoda) just worked backwards through the What Are You Listening To While You're Mofoin' It thread on the day this thread was started and 'borrowed' the first eight tracks at the top of each post put up by each of those Mofos that fit the tournament criteria (<10 mins).

Why those particular three players you may ask? Purely because they all had plenty of posts in that thread and I thought they would each likely see the amusing side of their songs being used in such a way (or in other words, not throw a snot-fit about it).

Just in case any of you were wondering.

Well, it kind of is ... just they didn't know anything about it
And just realised I've actually told a porky or two there .... with Tatty's The Fall nomination it's not the top one but actually the second song from that post ('cos he remarked it was his fav Fall track so it felt more 'right' to use that one instead) and Yods doesn't have many posts in that thread at all but after originally doing mark and Tatty it just struck me as being highly amusing if I was to do the same for Our Glorious Leader as well

The whole process amused me anyway
