‘Ice Age 3’ Thaws Oct. 27 on Blu-ray and DVD

The CG-animated hit Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is heading to DVD and Blu-ray Disc Oct. 27 (order date Sept. 30) from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

In the third installment, Manny, Sid, Diego and Ellie discover a lost world filled with dinosaurs. The voice cast includes Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Jane Lynch and Simon Pegg.

The film earned more than $193 million at the domestic box office but proved a bigger hit overseas, earning $807.1 worldwide.

A three-disc combo pack containing the film on Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy is offered at $39.99 and will contain such extras as commentary by director Carlos Saldanha, deleted scenes, an Ice Age digital storybook maker, two short cartoons starring the squirrel character Scrat, a how-to-draw Scrat tutorial and several behind-the-scenes featurettes. The Blu-ray also includes a link to IMDb.com to look up actors and other information while watching the film.

The $29.98 single-DVD version will include just the commentary. A two-DVD “Scrat Pack” set will be available at $34.98 and will include the single-DVD disc with the commentary and a second disc containing most of the featurettes found on the Blu-ray, plus three exclusive Scrat games.
