Michael Caine for supporting actor? That's a joke.
How? Caine is a great actor. For how little he was in he was great. Mark Wahlberg got nominated for best supporting role for the Departed and he was in the Departed just a little bit more than Caine was in TDKR. See no reason he couldn't get a nomination.

-TDKR is probably going to get a nod solely because there can be up to ten nominations. If there are ten more deserving movies it will be a hell of a year in cinema.

-These are simply guesses, some I hope I'm right others I hope I'm not:

-The Master by Paul Thomas Allen (critics loved There Will Be Blood, bored me to tears by DDL performance was awesome)
-Django Unchianed
-Moonrise Kingdom (haven't seen yet but taking people's word)
-Lincoln
-Les Miserables (Screams Oscar bait)

Those are my educated guesses...as always I hope I'm surprised by some off the radar films

101 Favorite Movies (2019)

Smells mystical, doesn't it?
I would love to see Ian Mckellen get one for Gandalf. Joaquin would be nice too, though.

Good whiskey make jackrabbit slap de bear.
My predictions so far.

Quentin Tarantino might get another original screenplay nod, but it'll come under tough competition with PTA's The Master.

In all seriousness with The Expendables 2, if it gets rid of the horrid blood CGI like the last one, it could get some technical ones. And though there is about 0 chance of it happening, like GP said, JCVD for supporting actor! He deserved one for JCVD the movie, because even though he was playing himself, he was super engaging, honest and funny.

If Spielberg's Lincoln turns out to be any good, then it might take home best picture and director, because basically, it's a Spielberg film and a biopic. The voters eat that ***** for breakfast like its green berets.

Les Miserables I can't see winning anything.

Moonrise Kingdom, from what I've heard is good, and some people have even said that Bruce Willis deserves a supporting actor nod! That would be cool, if it happened. Realistically, it'll get a screenplay nod, but I'll doubt it'll win.

The Dark Knight Rises will be nominated for a few of the major awards, but it won't win.

I forgot about Steven Spielberg's Lincoln. That should get a ton of nominations for him and Daniel Day Lewis.

Right Now I see the best picture nominees as:
Moonrise Kingdom
Prometheus
Lincoln
Djano Unchained
The Master
The Great Gatsby
Gangster Squad
Killing Them Softly
Lovelace
Silver Linings Playbook

And as for Best actor
Leonardo DiCaprio
Daniel Day Lewis
Ryan Gosling
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Brad Pitt

Thoughts? It would be col if Matthew McConaughey gotten nominated. Not a fan of his, but his performance in Magic Mike was one of the best of his career and he is starting to take more daring roles. I hope Keira Knightley gets nominated too. And Moonrise Kingdom deserves a best picture nomination but it doesn't look like they might get it. And it looks like it could be a big year for Ben Affleck as a director.

I can't see Silver Linings Playbook getting a Best Film nomination.
^ What I previously said.

Humm, I could be wrong. Like a lot of people thought, the first release trailer made it look like it was nothing special at all and the usual run, but it's just won the Peoples Choice prize at the Toronto Film Festival and getting very good reviews. So depending on how many Best Film nominations they go for next year, it could get on the Best Film nominations list. Quite a lot of the films that have won previous Peoples Choice awards have gone on to do very well at the Oscars.

In addition, I would be very suprised if Argo got props like that. Love Affleck's films, but usually they are underappreciated. I'd love a Denzel nomination too but I can't get my hopes up for it. Though Flight looks like a really sweet film.

Django Unchained and Lincoln. Both Spielberg and Quentin are due, I think.
