I agree with this.. I think anyone who is only referred to by a single name becomes a sacred cow.. I'm a fan of his 50s work, but everything after that is kinda average, although "La Dolce Vita" is pretty good, even though there's a lot I don't like about it. Maybe it's the decadence.

Yes, and that's the same way I feel regarding about half of today's "auteurs"...

"La Strada" Is On Today @ 6pm ET (TCM)

It's my 2nd favorite movie of all-time. If you love neo-realism, Fellini, Anthony Quinn, Giulieta Masina, then check this movie out.
