Comic book movies.

You must be aware of all the movies coming out nowdays that are based on comic books. Just recently has a wave of such movies being produced including Bulletproof monk, X-Men, Hulk, the one about the demon biker and most recently Spider-man. Why is it they are doing this? Because of the success of X-Men and Spider-man? What do you think?
