2h 27m | Action | Adventure | Biography | Drama | Thriller
Writer: William Nicholson, Don MacPherson
Cast: Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Tom Bateman, Paul Gleeson, Teeradon Supapunpinyo

An almost impossible international rescue operation of a young Thai soccer team trapped in a cave due to a massive flood. Based on a true story. Excellent job by Howard recreating the tension, and the extremely claustrophobic situations.

ZVP 2017 Junya Okabe

8m | Short | Action | Sci-Fi
Writer: Junya Okabe
Cast: Shun Sugata, Chihiro Yamamoto

In feudal Japan, blind Swordsman Zatoichi comes to the aid of a noblewoman carrying a secret treasure, and must fight cyborg ninjas and a powerful and mysterious Samurai.

Zatōichi VS Predator, don't know exactly what this is but it looks full of potential.

DEAD CALM 1989 Phillip Noyce (re-watch)

1h 36m | Horror | Thriller
Writer: Terry Hayes, Charles Williams
Cast: Nicole Kidman, Sam Neill, Billy Zane

Had a great time with this first re-watch since '89, lots of nostalgia. Nicole Kidman never looked better than in this definitive sea-faring psycho Thriller. Perfect late night entertainment.

THE LANGOLIERS 1995 Tom Holland

3h | Horror | Mystery | Sci-Fi
Writer: Stephen King
Cast: Patricia Wettig, Dean Stockwell, Kate Maberly, David Morse, Bronson Pinchot, Mark Lindsay Chapman, Frankie Faison

Stephen King's The Langoliers is a TV-Mini Series that looked like a B-movie at times with horrible Atari quality computer graphics. Nevertheless the story was engaging enough for me to be entertained for the entire runtime. It had a cozy and familiar Twilight Zone like feel to it. Pretty sure TV show ‘Lost’ writers were inspired by parts of the story. Once again very satisfactory late night entertainment.

LILJA 4-EVER 2002 Lukas Moodysson

1h 49m | Crime | Drama

Well made powerful and brutally realistic film with excellent performances.
Making our "first world problems" seem insignificant AF.

THE COVENANT 2023 Guy Ritchie

2h 3m | Thriller | War | Action
Writers: Ivan Atkinson, Marn Davies

Not what I expected and nothing like Ritchie's previous work so literally 'outstanding'.
Great performances wouldn't be surprised if both Gyllenhaal and Salim get a nomination.

The Dry 2020 Robert Connolly

G´day Mates! Small town murder mystery movie set in Australia.
Multiple timelines and mysteries intertwined make this a solid and engaging thriller.

Another Round 2020 ‘Druk’ Thomas Vinterberg

The anomaly Nic Cage still holds the best performance in a drunk role imo but Mads Mikkelsen is not far behind.
Great film about men in a midlife crisis and their poor attempt to solve their issues through alcohol. Winner of the arthouse cinema award 2020.
