Still worth buying a Blu-Ray player?

It's pretty obvious that physical media is dying, but the end isn't for a while still.
"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

If u have fast internet speed downloading movies to ur hdd is a better way than buying bluray disks, its the digital world now so lets follow it. Keep ur collection digital.
That would be all fine and dandy if I didn't live in a nowhere area where I'm forced to have internet with a freaking data-limit.

I kinda have to buy Blu-Rays, downloading five HD movies would cost me probably $70 in data overage fees.

I prefer Blu-Rays anyway, since you get bonus features and you actually have a collection that's palpable.
