This was fine. Performances were decent, but the story wasn't as exciting as it could have been. A couple good moments with the female impersonator robbery and the underwater fight scene at the end. Not as dark as it should have been though. The ending isn't really noir enough. 6/10 is my rating.

So Ellen's husband killed the cop and stole the jewels? He was suppose ti be rich. Was it his idea or Ellen??
I think it was her idea. She was a bad girl and a gold digger.

unclear of he would be charged with anything,
Maybe an accessory charge, but probably relatively minor. He gets the girl and gets off pretty easily.

My take

One of those short (80 minutes) and somewhat light film noirs. There were a lot of these made back in the 1950s. This one has a few good scenes and the premise was not that bad - a guy is able to become rich by negotiating the return if stolen goods by the mafia. Would have liked to seen more about the culprits in this movie who are both killed off screen for some reason. 6/10

A young Richard Anderson from The Six Million Dollar Man fame appears in this one.
