This would requiere a whole new thread. Some of the Spielberg stuff (even he made Hall of Fame Movies like Jaws and Schindlers List) is pretty dull, Jarmuch-, Wenders- and some Allenflicks are quite overestimated imho. I guess you know what I´m talking about. People have different tastes but I just don`t like the idea of some kind of universal canon.

Some Like It Hot (1959)
The Maltese Falcon (1941)
Midnight Cowboy (1969)
Blue Velvet (1986)

I am not really ashamed but I would say "I should watch". Should I watch all of them? I dont know.
Definitely watch Midnight Cowboy and Some Like It Hot. Have to say I haven't gotten around to The Maltese Falcon or Blue Velvet, although I've seen most of the films listed in this thread. There are some old classic films I haven't gotten around to see yet unfortunately. Haven't seen Avatar, just not excited about it (I know, some would say sacrilege).

Haven't seen Avatar, just not excited about it (I know, some would say sacrilege).
I haven't seen Avatar yet. It's on our PPV now, so I might try to watch it this weekend. Or not. I don't know why, but it just hasn't peaked my interest, even though I heard it was really great.
I cannot believe anyone who is not interested in watching Avatar. Can you imagine anyone has not watched Star Wars? It's really a shame if anyone has not watched Star Wars. It's the same thing with Avatar. Avatar is a movie that everyone should watch.

bigscreenbytes & Ceege, make your time for watching Avatar. It's worthwhile! 3-D movie was amazing! I am not sure if it's still on or not.

Really? Well, you can believe me. Not only am I not interested in seeing Avatar, I was never interested in seeing Avatar.

Avatar is ok.. enjoyable film.. I don't think anyone is missing anything if they haven't seen Avatar..
Regarding Star Wars, I know many people who don't like it..

But I would definitely be shocked if someone has not seen Terminator 2.

[quote=Darkrose;627790]My list is a sad one. I've been wanting to watch them for years, I just never got a chance.

Godfather(any and all) --- Great series, a lot of ppl complain about 3, but I don't think it's that bad at all.

Pulp fiction --- Really good movie if you're a QT kind of guy, (which I am), also if ur a dialog kind of guy

Clockwork Orange --- Watched a long time ago, when I was younger, wasn't able to appreciate it as I probably would now, but personally one of my favorite SK movies

Requiem For a Dream Major movie, make sure you're not having a good day when you watch this, cause it's such a downer. I liked it a lot, I've owned it for 4 years, but I've only ever seen it once, because I'm scared of what it will do to my psyche

The Shawshank Redemption GREAT MOVIE, you just can't go wrong with this one

Clerks --- I completely love KS movies, and this is one of my favorites, acting is cheesy, and the dialog seems fake at times, but it's always entertaining

Braveheart --- Regardless of it's lack of historic accuracy, and how many ppl feel about MG, this is one of my top 5 favorite movies EVER

Casablanca --- Never seen it, but it's on my to do list

Starwars --- Wow, you have NO idea how many COUNTLESS pop-cultural references you are missing in EVERY aspect of life, if you don't have a firm grasp of Star Wars lore

Boondock Saints --- Great cult movie, fun to turn off your brain and watch it at face value

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind --- Great movie, roller coaster emotions

Goodfellas --- Awesome movie, probably my second favorite gangser flick just behind Godfather, and just ahead of Casino

Lost in Translation Haven't seen it yet

Pan's Labyrinth --- Heard lots of good things, can never get past the first 20 mins

Twelve Monkeys --- If you're into sci-fi, you'll love this....I know I did

Schindler's List --- Killer movie, the scene with the girl in red, makes me tear up every time

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly[/ --- I probably have seen this, since my father forced me to watch countless CE movies as a kid, but to tell the truth, I'm not quite sure quote]

Wow...that's a list with LOTS of good movies you should really watch....not sure my opinion means much, considering I don't post here much, but I'll just skim through your list, cause I'm bored

Godfather Pt. 2
Gone with the Wind
Schindlers List
Breathless

But......if I really want to see them, I would have.

I have a new question. That I will post.

This one is bad guys...
A Clockwork Orange

I havent seen it

2022 Mofo Fantasy Football Champ
All quiet on the western front
Gone with the wind.
African Queen (is this any good.. saw the first 15 minutes and found it boring.. I love Bogart though)
Schlinders List
I really wasn't a big fan of The African Queen. But to each his own. My least favorite of Bogart, yet it's what he won an award for. (I've only seen 4 of his movies though- Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The Maltese Falcon, Casablanca and this)

2022 Mofo Fantasy Football Champ
Many & Many older movies from the 50's and 60's. For example I have never seen One Flew Over A Cukoo's Nest.
Watch it Juno!

I think you would enjoy Rear Window and Some Like it Hot as well.

Clockwork Orange
Casablanca
Schlinders List
Gone with the Wind (part thereof)
Citizen Kane
North by Northwest
Singin' in the Rain
Psycho

Many & Many older movies from the 50's and 60's. For example I have never seen One Flew Over A Cukoo's Nest.
Order it now

I am burdened with glorious purpose
Too many people here have not seen so many amazing films.

About Schindler's List, I avoided this film for like 10 years because of the subject matter. I have trouble with Holocaust movies because they are so sad.

But believe me, this is a film every movie buff should see. Surprisingly, it is an uplifting film and rather enjoyable in many ways. Near the end, that scene with Liam and his pin, mumbling about "one more person" is just flat out amazing and heartbreaking.

SEE THIS FILM. You won't regret it. None of you!

And then, just to offset the sad emotions, see Some Like it Hot.
