33. Sunrise (1927) - disliked this but should revisit it at some point
42. Sunset Boulevard (1950) - Good movie, but didn't love it

51. Day For Night (1973) - Disliked it
58. Taxi Driver (1976) - Hated it, but should probably revisit
63. Rebel Without a Cause (1955) - Good, but much preferred East of Eden
70. The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) - Disliked it
85. Yellow Submarine (1968) - Pretty, but otherwise didn't like it. Not really a Beatles fan
90. There Will Be Blood (2007) - Hated it
94. Heat (1995) - I saw it at the theater when I was 14, don't really remember it. Should watch again.
99. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) - Hated it.

I've not seen many on that list, but here they are:

45. Dr. Strangelove (1963)
52. Theorem (1968)
58. Taxi Driver (1976)
59. The Red Shoes (1948)
69. The Shining (1980)
81. The Fog (1980)
94. Heat (1995)
I particularly love Heat – so much so that it's now broken into my Top 10.

The Cranes are Flying is the most magnificent one of the 19 I've seen. Well or The Shining, Sunrise, Sunset Boulevard, or Its a Wonderful Life.
The Cranes Are Flying is such a gorgeous film, does really well to overcome the propaganda too like I don’t think Soviet melodramas get the credit for that like some US war films do.

Ah fair enough! I mean other than Persona and Sunrise these are probs the least formally daring films on the list, so maybe you’d enjoy some of the more formally adventurous ones like Wavelength or B.I.T Plane !! : - )

Heat is beautiful, completely changed the aesthetic of the gangster film, like really freshened it up.

Congrats on finishing your list.

I've not seen many and I didn't really want to see most of those but this really isn't my kind of film. Welcome back.

Sure.

Heat (1995) I love the look of this. Love watching it but don't actually think it's as good as many people do.
Detour (1945)
There Will Be Blood (2007)
Yellow Submarine (1968) Saw it when I was a kid but not since. Didn't like it then.
Last Year at Marienbad (1961)
The Fog (1980) Love it
The Shining (1980)
Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
The Red Shoes (1948)
Taxi Driver (1976) Love it. Is in my own top 5
Culloden (1964)
Singin' in the Rain (1952)
It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
Dr. Strangelove (1964)
Sunset Blvd. (1950)
Now, Voyager (1942)
Man With a Movie Camera (1929)

I think I've seen Sunrise but I'm not convinced that I finished it. I started Radio On but definitely didn't finish it but I've put them here anyway.

Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927)
Radio On (1979)

Intriguing list. I agree that Red Desert and The Passenger are the best Antonioni. I rate them respectively
and
.

I did not enjoy Wavelength by Michael Snow and i genuinely think that La region Centrale is a lot more interesting, as a thoughtful meditation on film, nature and mechanics, even though its 3 hours long.

I will look more into your list tomorrow, before going to work, but besides Peter Greenaway, we have a lot in common in terms of film taste.
