I've only seen one of those last 6.
I like Jack Benny...his slow burn when he debates between his money and his life, "I'm thinking, I'm thinking". Impeccable timing. So yeah, I should see To Be or Not to Be.
I've heard of One, Two Three largely because I have a movie review book in my bathroom when I need to go. Looks like fun. And yes, I'm becoming a Billy Wilder fan.
When Harry Met Sally is probably among my favorite romcoms...one of my least favorite genres. Perhaps it's that Crystal and Meg Ryan give good performances. Or that their characters actually seem intelligent and likeable. Or thanks to Nora Ephron's script, it glides over the few plotholes with sharp insight and crisp dialogue. This is clearly one case of I'll have what she's Having that I'm on board with.
Meant to see the Gold Rush last year on the 2021 list. I did see one Chaplin short a few years ago and liked it. So I'm overdue for more.
Only saw the remake of The Producers. It was bad, although there were a few delightful moments there (Uma!) and I guess I don't have to see the Broadway version now. Haven't seen the original one and yes, 1960s-1970s Brooks was on fire, so it looks like I'll have to take the shot.
Yes, I've never seen Wayne's World. The product placement scene looks clever. Then again, the only SNL film that worked for me was The Blues Brothers. And I think they sorely missed Belushi because the long overdue sequel was bad.
On the plus side, I was just reviewing my list and yeah, I had Clueless as an honorable mention! So off we go!
My List:
HM: Clueless
