I like some paranormal stuff if it's well written, [...]
In that case, I absolutely LOVED this film:

Kokuhaku [Confessions] might be worth a look.

I recently watched Brian de Palma's Obsession. Although sort of predictable, I still think it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. Great performances and masterful direction and cinematography.

Yeah, you're running into the same problem I was. How to avoid movies that have some degree of supernatural (etc.) to it.
Why avoid, they are amazing films

Which Angst are you refering to? The one from 1983?

Is Kidnapped the Spanish one?

What about Cold Fish? I've found more than one in the horror category.

I've seen quite a bit from that genre so I'm looking for some movies that may have fallen off the radar. Let me say that I'm not that keen on the supernatural, paranormal, ghosts, spirits, exorcism, fantastic, sci-fi type of horror.
I was curious, with all the suggestions thus far, which ones have you not seen yet?

I don t leave much to recommend my friend

Here's a couple that haven't been mentioned here.

Do these have paranormal ****?
