The best Paul W.S. Anderson film. The idea of the ship opening a gateway to hell is a terrifying one and one that I would love to see revisited in a possible remake, Most of ther gruesome images were left on the cutting room floor to obtain an R-rating, so the thoughts of what this film could really be is hurtful.
Despite some poor CGI effects, the film has some great set pieces and visuals. Sri/Fi Horror done right can be really creepy. You're out there alone. I feel like this film is underrated.
