Instead of the usual dose of patriotism, waving flags and shooting things, this film had a lot more to offer. More a philosophical work than a war film, it tells the story of war from the perspective of the soldiers fighting it.



Strange Days- set in 1999 but not based upon an apocalyptic premise. Whilst sci-fi plays a big part in the film, the racial tensions and police corruption are shown to have a wider impact. The protagonist is also quite mild-mannered- most of the action comes from his female sidekick/friend.
