I've actually been falling quite behind on 2024 films because of speedreading and the musicals countdown, but currently my only 5/5 is Dune Part Two.

Victim of The Night
Haven't seen them all but, so far, Love Lies Bleeding is my favorite.

1. Ghostlight
2. The Promised Land(2023)
3. Late Night with the Devil
4. Oddity
5. Love Lies Bleeding
6. Hitman
7. Fly
8. Dune Part II
9. In a Violent Nature
10. Strange Darling

If we count mini-series Chimp Crazy would be at number 6

Hundreds of Beavers. Although IMDB lists it as 2022 (festival premiere), so Thelma.

The Bib-iest of Nickels
This is just what I've seen from 2024: -

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - Good
Longlegs - Good
Tuesday - Good
Inside Out 2 - Good
Abigail - Good
A Quiet Pace: Day One - Good
Love Lies Bleeding - Okay
Deadpool & Wolverine - Okay
Damsel - Okay
Lisa Frankenstein - Middling

My top 5:

Inside Out 2
Blink Twice
Dune Part 2
Abigail
Kinds of Kindness
Haven't seen Inside Out 2 yet, but the first Inside Out was my favorite Pixar/Disney film! I also didn't really enjoy Dune Part 1, so it's hard for me to understand the craze behind Dune Part 2.

I was disappointed with the ending of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. It was quite underwhelming, but I liked the world-building.

Longlegs and A Quiet Place are definitely on my watchlist!

This is an interesting one, haven't even heard of it. But maybe it's a hidden gem. WIll give it a watch.

A Quiet Place

Top 6 probably is (I'm mostly using the year given by Letterboxd, but some* that are listed as 2023 surely were released here this year so I included them):

Longlegs
Death Whisperer*
Kill*
Exhuma
Maxxxine
Love Lies Bleeding

Some that haven't been mentioned yet:

I Saw the TV Glow
I went to see this in the theater and it had gotten booted that day for a Thursday Preview of one of the crap movies like Godzilla x Kong or something. I was sad.

Got to see it in the theater and man is this the type of movie I want to see in the theater. If you wanna send something straight to streaming make it Godzilla x Kong. 100% CGI can be viewed just as well on the small-screen, IMO.
