MoFo Fantasy Football 2024 - Sign-Ups

And it wasn’t even due to injuries, this time.

Auto drafting for Football will be a first for me. It's like Fantasy Suicide to do this for football. Baseballs way more forgiving, but a Fantasy Football season 80% of your chances to win depends on your draft. God knows what rickety throwaway RBs im gonna be left with. I might even get Cadillac Williams.

I am in and I think I am available either of those days.

Probably something like Devin Singletary/Kenneth Walker territory

With Singletary….he’s ok, but I’m curious how well he’ll do with the Giants. He strikes me as maybe someone who hasn’t been given a full chance as the starter yet, for a full season, who hasn’t been able to show how good he can be when he’s the starter and not sharing the backfield with anyone like he has previously.

Last year I had Mahomes, Rashee Rice, and their RB Pacheco and couldn't even get in the playoffs. They finally emerged in their playoffs, but the Fantasy seasons over by then. When they won the Super Bowl I felt so used!

So the fantasy league doesn't go by the actual games?

Rice was boom or bust most time. Mahomes wasn’t putting up the numbers he use to when he had T Hill as his go to WR.
Pacheco….I think started slow or maybe missed some time with an injury? His numbers spiked toward the end of the season, or maybe about halfway through perhaps? I can’t remember.
They weren’t exactly dominant last year, which is why I picked….Ravens vs San Fran was it? I can’t recall. But I definitely picked against KC because it was a “down” season.
Never bet against Mahomes.

Just looked at the numbers from Tongo’s Team last year. Pacheco was sometimes good for 12-15 points, with several sub 10 point games and towards the end of the season, he jumped to over 20 points a few times.

Rice was worse than I realized. Mahomes was what I remembered last year. Still decent, however, as a top tier QB.

Raul won the championship a couple years ago with an auto-drafted team, and I doubt he was the first. Obviously the draft is important, especially early in the season, but I think in-season management and good fortune with the schedule/injuries are the biggest keys to success.

If you're gonna auto-draft, I suggest pre-ranking enough players to ensure your preferences for the first few rounds. I'd also add every kicker and defense to your Do Not Draft list since auto-draft fills out your starting roster before selecting bench spots. Otherwise you'll be selecting a kicker and defense in rounds 8 and 9 when good skill players are still on the board. You can always grab a kicker and defense off the wire before the season starts.

I'm in. A Sunday draft would be perfect but Saturday shouldn't be a problem.

Sunday morning would also be best for me. Been working part time and I've been working most Saturdays.

Okay, I'm moving the draft to SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST at 10:00 AM ET. Earlier than we usually do it but it seems to be the only time nobody has a hard conflict with.

If anyone objects let me know ASAP, otherwise I'll lock this in and set the draft order tomorrow. If people want to, like TONGO, give me their preferred draft slots in order in advance, it'll help speed things up. Especially if you're not sure you'll be checking your PMs regularly enough to respond quickly when it's your turn to choose. I think we have to cap the time to respond on those to 24 hours, otherwise I'll give you the next-highest slot.

10 am. I guess I could wake up by then. No chance we could move it to 12 noon?
