Your favorite scene

I ain't gettin' in no fryer!
I came up with this while watching Fight Club. I think that there are quotes, actors, actresses, etc., that everyone likes in a movie. What are your favorite scenes?

Mine would have to be in Fight Club, with Chloe(the cancer patient that is near death). When she no longer fears death but wants to get laid. I know it shouldn't be somehting to laugh at, but just her whole speech about how she wants to get laid cracks me up. How she has lubricants, pornographic material, and so on and so fourth.

What's yours?

Well, there's the scene where the newly married Mortimer Brewster and Elaine Harper chase each other around in front of their houses in Arsenic and Old Lace (which had the great line "But Mortimer, you're going to love me for my mind?" to which he replies, "One thing at a time.")

And I really like the scene in the restaurant in "Get Shorty" where Chili Palmer throws Bear (James Gandolfini in one of his many pre-Tony Soprano roles) down the stairs.

There are others, but those are the two I'm thinking of right now.

The assasination attempt on Leo (Albert Finney) set to "Danny Boy" in the Coen Bros.' Miller's Crossing (1990). If you can find a tighter, more wondefully constructed piece of filmmaking, let me know.

Hmmm, I've got a few:
  • The scene in "Unbreakable" where David Dunn is lifting weights in his cellar. Many others in that film, as well...especially the one in which he's knocked into the pool. The music playing when he climbs out is utterly overpowering.
  • The scene early on in "Dial 'M' For Murder" where Wendice is explaining the whole thing to Swann.
  • The hospital scene in "Baseketball" where they're running around going nuts.
  • The scene in "Baseketball" where they show Squeak his new bad (friggin' hilarious).
  • The final scene in "The Usual Suspects."
  • Countless scenes in "The Apostle.

spdrcr, your favorite scene involves lubricants and pornographic material? lol. that's a good one. i would say my scene would be anything from a kevin smith or quentin tarentino film. for me a funny dialouge does so much more than random goofiness. how could you ever forget the royale with cheese? or the superman/lois lane concieving a child conversation in mallrats? those are movie memories that will stick with me forever just because i find oddball conversations like that to be very true to life. it sounds like something you and your friends would say while you were sitting around bsing over nothing, you know what i mean? to me, those scenes are priceless because it's so rare in movies to be able to relate like that. for every 10,000 schwarzenegger explosions, there's a memorable scene that i love between two characters that aren't just cutouts.

Mine is the last scene in Jurassic Park, nothing makes me happier than the T-rex defeating the Raptors and then roaring.

You read my mind. Hilarious. The whole thing, in fact: "Bullsh*t! Eateries in the designated square downstairs are part of the food court. Anything else is just a stop for autonomous mid-mall snacking." Priceless.

Anyway, I happen to like cutout characters watching/causing things to blow up.

*cringe* haven't you seen so much of that crap that it all starts to look alike? wouldn't you like a movie that stands out? never mind.... this conversation is old.

Didn't say I only liked typical movies...not at all. I just don't despise them, because now and then I like to know what to expect. Sometimes stuff 'splodin' is fun, and a good thing, even if it's typical.

Now With Moveable Parts
My favorite scenes are:
-The scene between John Cusack and Diane Wiest in Bullets Over Broadway...when she says,"Don't speak, don't speak..."
-In American Beauty when he's laying in bed and watching Mina Suvari on the ceiling with all the rose petals...awesome.
-The,"There's no crying in baseball!"speech by Tom Hanks in a League of Their Own.
-another Tom Hanks scene I love is in the Money Pit...LOL...when the bathtub falls through the ceiling and he laughs hystericaly...damn,that's the funniest moment in movie history.
-I love the scene in Braveheart when he gives Mirren the thistle she gave him as a child...so romantic I could burst.
-The freaky boat-ride scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...oh,and all the Oompa-Loompa scenes too.

That's all for now...

Radioactive Spider Blood
Scene 15, Wild Things. Denise Richards, Neve Campbell... need I say more?

There is the one scene that can not be called, under any standards, as second best. All of these scenes are GOOD scenes. But the BEST scene is without a doubt the "We've Taken Aquba" ("He likes your lemonade") scene from "Lawrence of Arabia".

Simple as that.

The film is full of "#1 of all time"s actually, also containing the number one jump cut of all time. "It's going to be fun...."

The Last Picture Show

The very last scene. I love the way the camera floats away leaving the town imprinted on our memory. It made my cry.

City Slickers

Bruno Kirby's speech about his best day and his worst day. Comedies shouldn't be able to move you like that.

When Harry Met Sally

Harry running to meet Sally at the end. "When you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." Aawwwwwww. Makes my cry like a baby.

The Godfather

The baptism scene. "Do you reject Satan? - I do". If you've seen it, you know what happens. I'm not going to spoil it.

The Shawshank Redemption

The escape.

Casablanca

That final scene.

We know where your mind is at my friend.

No the only reason why the scene in Fight Club is one I like it's just because, here is this lady on her deathbed to say the least, like she could die any minute and she wants to get laid. How messed up is that!?

Now With Moveable Parts
No seriously...the only time Hyperbaseball comes on here,is talk about the 3-way in Wild Things...I kid you not...it's true!

Hey, when the opportunity arises, I gotta talk about it! Haha

More seriously though, I'm more of a reader than a poster- but I do love movies.

Now With Moveable Parts
ok...so you thought it was hot...what else do find interesting? Expand your horizons a tiny little bit...Wild Things isn't all there is...I know you've got something else you wanna talk about...baseball movies?

In Soviet America, you sue MPAA!
The near end scene in One Night at McCools, where all the characters come together.

The third room in Four Rooms.

The last scene in Shawshank that takes place in his cell.

The opening scene in Die Hard with a Vengeance and the scene in Harlem.

Bunches more.

Oh yeah, the scene in Harlem was great. As soon as I saw the sign, I was like "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww MAN!" Which room was the third, BTW? I'm thinking it was either the one with the kids, or the witches.
