Dick was an electric guitar pioneer, who employed middle eastern scales and was an early user of reverb. The amazing thing is how he played those rapid fire staccato notes on his guitar. If you look at the photo below, you will notice that the bass strings are on the bottom. Dick played a guitar made for
right- handers- although he was a leftie. He didn't restring the guitar, but instead played it 'backwards' . This technique may easily have hampered a lesser musician, but for Dick; his talent knew no restraint.

It seems like EVERYONE online was given a guitar pick by him.. They'd melt! He played with huge strings..
