Seeing all these lists makes me realise how few Scorsese films I've actually seen. Which is ridiculous considering how much i rate the ones I have seen! Need to start watching!

Interesting that Wolf of Wall Street hasn't made it onto some of your updated lists... I thought it was brilliant!

Said the person who just admitted they haven't seen a whole bunch of his movies.

Also notice that this thread was started and the first wave of replies came in May and June of 2013, months before The Wolf of Wall Street was even released.

But go see a dozen more Scorsese movies and tell us if Wolf of Wall Street still holds up for you?

We'll wait.

Wolf of Wall Street made onto the bottom of my top 10... it's a damn good movie... I personally don't feel it ranks amongst Scorsese's VERY BEST.

Gangs of NY, and Shutter Island are quality films as well, and didn't make my top 10.

For MANY directors, Gangs of NY and Shutter Island would be considered their two best films - it's a testament to good Marty is that arguably aren't even in his top 10.

My surprise is that The King of Comedy isn't higher on most lists. I might be the only one who thinks its arguably his best film, and also... arguably DeNiro's best performance.

The Bib-iest of Nickels
Cape Fear was okay, so was Hugo, Wolf of Wall-Street was good, I loved The Departed and The Aviator. Goodfellas and Taxi Driver have been on my "Need to Watch" list for years.

Ok back in a bit

Shutter Island and Wolf of Wall Street are his best works: Old Scorsese > Young Scorsese.

All of his films i've seen minus The Last Waltz ranked - https://letterboxd.com/camarel/list/...orsese-ranked/

Didn't include The Last Waltz because i want to make a separate one for his documentaries but that's still the only one of his docs i've seen. The Color of Money's high placement will probably raise some eyebrows: every time i watch it it reminds me of one of the best vacations i ever had as a kid, i watched it just before leaving for the vacation and i played alot of pool during the holiday and watched it several times when i came back. It's one of the most intense nostalgic feelings i still have, should be higher tbh haha.
