(Keep your eye on TCM.. It seems like I never put my favorite movies on here, perhaps because I don't have them scheduled from recording.. Treasure of the Sierra Madre was on last night, and it was too late to list it....)

9/25

2am - TCM - The Life of Oharu (starring Toshiro Mifune, 89% rating)

TCM is having a couple of programs with Quentin Tarantino (interview with Elvis), and another one with Ed Norton and his influences... Either late tonight, or early morning - check your local listings for time, I didn't, I just know they are scheduled for recording.

9/25 - TCM - 2:45pm
La Bete Humaine

I'm looking forward to this... Jean Renoir and Jean Gabin, who also teamed up for "La Grande Illusion" - one of my Top 20.

10/15

5:44pm - TCM - Yours, Mine and Ours (7/10)
8pm - MMX - Cape Fear (7/10... the re-make with De Niro)
11:59pm - The Phantom Carriage -- Never saw this 1920 Swedish movie, but with a 90% RT score, I might give it a chance, and just hope it's not a silent movie.

If you want to see Gene Kelly fight gangsters, TCM is showing Black Hand (1950) tomorrow at 8:00am (Eastern Time).

Is that any good? I've never heard of it. Is it a noir? I can't image Gene Kelly in a noir unless he dances the bad guys right to jail

Hahaha, he out tap dances the defeated gangsters, who immediately give up and go to jail.

I've actually never seen it, so I'm glad TCM is showing it. Looks like a noir (depending on your definition). As an added bonus, you can watch Ernest Borgnine fight the black hand in Pay of Die! (1960), which isn't airing on TCM, but is on their on demand service until October 21st.

You can't make a rainbow without a little rain.

IMO, it's a very bad movie. I love Gene Kelly, but he was terribly miscast in the movie. (BTW, it's NOT a musical.)

This may not be the right place, but it's TCM, so whatever..But on TCM's on demand service, the American remake of M (1951) and They Live by Night (1948) are both up until November 5th.

This is the right place for ANYTHING related to movies.... Sometimes I put movies that are popular that I might not like, for others, after all, this IS a movie site, and it's very easy for some to turn on the TV and watch, as opposed to finding the cash to purchase it, especially considering many great movies are out of print.

My dream is for everyone to widen their spectrum, and if say a handful of people watch "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" tonight, we might be able to have a non-political discussion
