The Best Country on Earth

New Zealand looks amazing.

I love Austria and switzerland.

But for sentimental purposes Syria is a beautoful place to be also, everyone is concerned with making life pleasurable..and if you can imagine a society not based on money and not concerned with it...then you have the syrian social scene.

Randomly visiting for now
I'm an aussie to be sure but I grew up overseas and oddly enough I grew up in Papua New Guinea. If your're looking for beautiful weather, amazing plants/animals and a culture almost untouched by the west that's where you can find it. It's as if all the commercialism has come to PNG and they've just said yeah we'll take some of this stuff but you can stick your lifestyle somewhere not so nice. I really dig the sense of community I found there and everyone is just smiling all the time and the weirdest part is that everyone greets each other as they walk down the street like we all somehow know each other.

One time when my dad's friend got his house robbed he just went down to the local village and they got it all back for him real quick......sense of honour that I've never seen anywhere else. Simple people, simple lives and they just love it. I've been to the United States, China, England, Scotland, Singapoure, Japan, Hong Kong, France, New Zealand and even the surf capital Hawaii and it hasn't changed my mind one bit

You travelled where exactly in Canada?

Sweden comes to mind first because of the free education and health care program and legalized gay marriage and universal daycare. Don't know what it's like to actually live there though. I actually met someone from there a few months ago while at a bar and we ended up drinking and chatting together about what it's like there. I couldn't understand a word she said though and I was drunk so god knows why I mention it. Oh no wait, she was from Switzerland.

This One Time At Band Camp...
I am not going to say the Canada is the best country in the world because that just would be just a little bias since I reside there. But to say it is boring I would disagree. The nightlife in the major cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Windsor, London, Kingston and even to the west like Winnipeg, Calgary, and Regina I have experienced some good night life there.

MarmleMoo!! We had a whole thread here about Sweden, and it seems to me like an extraordinarily well-organized government.

That sounds wonderful, too.

Equilibrium, do you have pics of Syria? Sounds like you've been there.

DelilahDoo!! You don't have to guess why I'm here. What the ferk?? It's like everyday there for pete's sake.

Actually I forgot I know some peeps from Sweden. I asked them about the culture there and they had some negative things to say about it...I can't remember.

Next time I run into one of them I'll ask them some questions.

I find this a dumb question because you never illustrated in what perspective you meant by "The Greatest Country In The World" so how could you even hope to get an answer that can actually to a bracket of people, be a valid claim.

Ofcourse, However, if you mean what country has the largest collection of things that can and are argued as great or the greatest, the answer, encompassing all perspectives of Geography and Society would have to ofcourse be The United States (Still. It's not as Great as it used to be even though many people think it is). It has every climate, three large coasts, more famous cities than any other country (Except maybe a few, Italy) is the most powerful country by far, has the strongest economy, and has been the one entity that has given the single most influence in shaping modern history itself. The One thing we don't have however is ancient war hero's. There has never been a country in the category the United States is in in all history (except maybe egypt).Unfortunately our traditions, values and culture is declining rapidly so your guess is as good as mine how long we'll be there. By the time I die, it might be China.

Sometimes the skill in creating a thread with legs is to ask short, pertinent and open questions. Discussion, thus, ensues...

Grasshopper.

Mm-hmm. I like it here too however, I will advise anybody that is ever thinking of living there not to, unless your willing to pay 180 thousand + for a tiny one bedroom appartment. So just turn your little backsides around......and get outta here. We don't want anymore people.

Lets put a smile on that block

Aw, fellow vancouverites. Hi guys. But yes, it's pretty lovely here. But I'm still an England fan.

Hee.
I'm counting on different people having different notions of what make a country great.

Nice to see you back around these parts. I've read some of your older posts and you seem like a firecracker.

I've personally adopted Sun Tzu for that very reason.
