A scary thing happened on the way to the Movie Forums - Horrorcrammers

The only regret I have about that is that I wasn't able to do it (or something similar) years earlier than I did.

Probably because you're a chode who should never have veto power over actual creative people.

If I were to put it to a vote, I have no doubt that Mac's thread would be considered one of the top threads on Corrie. Hate and seethe as you must. It was beautiful work.

Mac is on Letterboxd, although I don't think he's super active. DaMU is there as well, although we're Facebook friends too.

A great and, periodically, extremely sexy thread, as I recall.

While we're reminiscing, what was that forum we joined (I think one of the times RT glitched but before the big sleep) which most of us got promptly banned from? RLM?
I didn't realize that you were part of the RLM thing. It happened so fast! I didn't witness all of the interactions there, but I understood from the fallout that it was basically the chronically obnoxious Nim and Zuben who were causing the most trouble for us, which began some random retaliation against the rest of us. I was just posting some nice comments when I noticed that a mod was editing my posts with shots of babies crying. I was never banned either (for I had done nothing banworthy), and had a lengthy complaint exchange. The typical response from the denizens was that I should learn how its done and follow the order of things. I had to point out that I had no intention of staying if this was the order of things. I haven't been back, so I wasn't aware that the RLM boards were defunct. I wonder where all of these toxic losers ended up. Maybe in some isolated oasis like Kateland populated by about a dozen Sartre characters damned to bitc# at each other for eternity.

Maturity is a virtue. God didn't make no ugly, Stu.

I distinctly recall posting "hawt" after one fairly graphic (but, as I noted previously, extremely sexy) page. So yes, happy to embody said maturity.

I mean, we weren't talking Hustler here. These were French portraits from the 20s. Save us from sin, Stu!!!

My involvement was minimal. I created an account, posted maybe once or twice, saw nearly everybody else got banned and stopped posting.

I was too much of a coward to venture regularly into OT (to post, that is; I would lurk with some regularity - I found there were a number of pretty articulate posters there) but despite Zuben's reputation I found he was pretty civil in my limited interactions with him. I remember Nim got a weird hardon about me after I posted in a bunch of their film threads, but I don't think I bothered responding.

I will say that I do not envy the job of a moderator. I think I was granted mod powers in Kateland and first thing I did was edit somebody's post for the lulz. (In my defense, they posted spoilers.)

So yes, a paragon of maturity am I.

Yeah; I mean, I didn't mind having that mantle thrust on me, since I felt we'd been needing someone there as an active modder for some time, and it was a pretty small, easy-to-monitor forum in that final half year anyway, but it's not like I needed to "feel the power" there or some other ****, and I'd have been just as happy if DaMU, MKS, or someone else had been chosen instead. There is actually another forum out there that I've had modding powers on for a few years now (Global Domination Is Dead), but I've never actually had to use them there, since it's such a small forum, and everyone there has known each other for years now, so there isn't that much serious drama. I mean, I can honestly only remember one occasion there where any modding had to be done, when a guy posted some furry porn as a bad joke (and no, it wasn't Hazelrabbit), which I reported and had deleted, so it might as well not have any mods at all for all they're needed there.

Here's a link in Reddit discussing it, that I stumbled upon a few months ago.
Urgh, I know I've mentioned it before, but I cannot stand that 'comment-tree' format.

IHOP shows up a few comments in, taking credit for being the master troll.
Help me out. Was IHOP the guy with the indexes? Wholly Jesus was that an epic thread.

But at least he didn't post any nipples to trigger Stu's mommy issues.

I could probably be trusted with mod power but it would force me to take these places far more seriously than I could ever justify.

I prefer to just sloppily roll into a thread, spout my nonsense and then have an existential crisis about the amount of time I spend on here spouting nonsense. As God intended.

Epi never bothered to confirm the issue with the PMs was related to his decision to close the place when I asked him, but the timing of it all was way too suspicious to (likely) be a coincidence, if you ask me.
OK, I wasn't sure if you'd discussed it with him or not. I don't think I ever interacted with him (because he just ignored my messages).

I'm sure I thanked you for your help back then, but if not I'm doing so now.

On the topic of old posters, are Dreiser, Weitzman and Elessar still anywhere?
I think a bunch of us have Alex Weitzman on Facebook. I've never "talked" to him on there, though (and I doubt he remembers me lol).

Don't know about the others.

I remember dreiser. He just disappeared without a trace. I'm not surprised since he made so many ironic "this thread has a point" or "great thread, guys" posts and thus probably wasn't enjoying himself very much.

Dreiser's probably off being miserable somewhere. K8 had a lot of personal issues (health, family, etc), and was only posting at his site about once a year.

Anyone contacted Death Proof? I would think that this site would fit him very well.

He mentioned on Kateland that he doesn't plan to join this forum, which is too bad. I think he still posts on Kateland though.

I also messaged ergill about this site a while ago. He expressed some interest in joining, but hasn't showed up yet.
