Best Movie Explosions

Okay heres the deal I'm looking for the best movie explosions including quality and sound.

My all time favorite would have to be in Flyboys (2006) The zeppelin explosion I had a 550 RMS speaker system attached to my DVD player I'm surprised the neighbors didn't call the police

Any other good ones that you know of please post

Midway (1976) has a few good ones for an older flick.

I generally find movie explosions to be obviously phony and not at all realistic. Especially every damn time cars collide or go over a cliff and not only burst into flame but actually explode. Fire requires fuel, oxygen, and ignition in proper quota; you could be swimming in gasoline in an enclosed space with too little oxygen and you couldn't even get a match to light. You can have a million cubic feet of natural gas blowing from an open well bore and it will never catch fire until a spark ignites it, which is why wild-well experts use brass tools when caping a gas blowout. An explosion requires bascially the rapid expansion of a gaseous material in a confined space. None of these things usually occur in vehicle collisions or overturns. In all of my years covering police beats, I've run hundreds of traffic fatalities and have never ever yet seen an automobile accident that resulted in a fire. I have, however, witnessed cars that caught fire due to faulty wiring--damaged two of my own cars that way, one when faulty wires under the dash overheated and ignited and the other when a busted waterhose at high speed caused the engine to overheat so quckly that the rubber coating on spark-plug wires ignited. The flames sputtered along the wiring when I opened the hood, but didn't even cause the fuel in the adjacent carberator to ignite and I out the fire with a wet hankerchief. I did know two people who died in a car-fire; their vehicle was hit head on by a drunk driver with enough impact that broke the metal bands holding the drunk's gasoline tank in place beneath the car's body; the gasoline tank fell to the pavement and skidded forward down the pavement with the momentum of the vehicle's previous speed, puncturing the fuel tank and creating sparks that ignited the spilling gasoline. Unfortunately, the fuel tank came to rest directly underneath the front seat of the second car and the fire burned to death the unconscious people inside in a freak accident.

I won't say autos never burn, but it so rarely happens from a natural occurance that when police see an auto in flames, they usually suspect arson.

The other dumb thing that movie-makers do is fireball explosions in outer space where there is no oxygen for fire or air to to conduct soundwaves of an explosion.

I couldn't find a good video with the ending of Jaws. There is no need to go into why any of these endings are "impossible". It's a movie, and they all have great endings with great explosions.

Even Though The Movie Was Just Pure Action And Barely Any Story It Has The Best Movie Explosion Of All Time I Think. In 'Death Race' When The Truck Blows Up, That Was A Great Explosion.

I watched the Dog Soldiers commentary and they said that Zabriskie Point was the way to do explosions. May watch that now since haven't yet

Sure, there are lots of slow-motion explosions at the end of Zabriskie Point, "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing". Did it say that Zabriskie Point is also the way to do desert orgies?

I liked the one in Dragonball where Goku and another hero are facing (I think) Majin Boo who makes an energy ball and keeps adding to it and they realise it is more than enough to destroy them, that he is going to destroy the Earth. Goku barely has time enough to teleport away before everything he knows "whites out" and the Earth is destroyed.
