This is a thrilling film that is based on a true story. It shows the story of a skinny, country preacher who goes to New York to help the gang members get a better life. The main part of the movie has him trying to reach out to the toughest and most hardened gang member, named Nicky Cruz. Nicky was the vice president (and former president) of the Mau Maus, the most vicious gang in Brooklyn. The violence, drugs, and just general intensity in this film eventually leads to the rally David holds for the gang members

where Nicky finally converts to Christianity.

This film was very well done and can still be enjoyed today, 41 years later. It's rated PG, although today, it would probably be PG-13. It contains violence (including a murder scene or two), language (including some racist terms), drug content (marijuana, narcotics are a major plot point), and sexual content.

Because I'm such a nice guy, here is the whole movie.
