A loving heart is the truest wisdom.
Is this going to start before or after the 1960's countdown?

• Bond franchise - Mostly it is just a movie series full of films based on the same basic source material with the same main character(s) present. Some Bond movies have direct sequels, like Casino Royale's direct follow-up, Quantum of Solace, but counting some and excluding others would be unfair and quite messy. Therefore the Bond films will stay ineligible.
Same with Godzilla?

After. This has been set on hold because of various edits that needs to be done and because it will probably end up as a better and more solid list if we take the time it needs.

Therefore this list doesn't have a specific date yet.

I was wondering the other day if this was still happening or not.

Most likely, yes. I'm not really familiar with the series, but without checking much into it, it does sound like it's a franchise constructed and executed much like Bond.

Oh yes it is most defiantly happening. We just don't wanna cross over multiple lists and stuff, so when there's room, it's on!

Too many countdowns diminish the impact of the Mofo Countdown. I boycott this.

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

As far as I'm concerned, your stupid '90s Countdown ruined the whole countdown phenomenon!

Honestly, they aren't really sequels, the closest we get is "spiritual sequels". If I count them as sequels I would have to against what I would usually do with such movies; which is that the director's verdict comes before anyone elses, including audiences, which comes next. And since the director himself doesn't regard them as true sequels and since they don't really have a real connection to each other, they really aren't nothing but "fan created" sequels...

So the only reason I would allow them in this countdown was if almost everybody participating think they should be included, dispite if their differences from being true sequels... The problem is just that counting one trilogy and not another is kind of cheating tbh. I had another trilogy a while back that was more "spiritual", so just because The Dollars Trilogy is more popular it shouldn't be a "free ticket" to this countdown.

I really hope this isn't supposed to be the Countdown after the 60s because I'd much rather do a Documentaries one or something, and I think we should've had a vote before this was decided.

Nothing has been decided. It is just here, no date has been set. And since this is a complicated list to do, it will take some time to get set up and such, so just relax.

Was anyone in particular planning on running a Documentaries list?
Not that i'm aware of, but i was under the impression that we'd be doing a Genre Specific one inbetween each Decade like we did with the Animation Countdown, and there's loads i'd rather get to before Sequels. Someone did mention Documentaries i think it may have been Harry Lime.

Edit: i just accidentally called Animation a Genre .

Lord High Filmquisitor
Could I get a ruling on the eligibility of Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods?
