Wow that was almost a year old.

Anyway, that song is originally by a folk artist prominent mostly in the late 50s-early 60s by the name of Jimmie Driftwood. It's been covered by several other artists, including Johnny Cash and Doc Watson. The version I was talking about was the Johnny Cash version, and if I remember correctly it was on the Jackie Brown soundtrack.

Ah, I'll check out the Cash version. I didn't know if it was the same song or not.

Bob Schneider does sort of bluesey, laid back tunes with some catchy lyrics. He's downloadable for a taste.

I want to know what you think of Rufus' daddy. I just learned last weekend that he was the guitar player who occasionally turned up in episodes of M*A*S*H*. How cool is that?!

Yeah he was also in Big Fish. Are you familiar with his music? If not check out A Live One for a good overview of some of his best stuff.
