Arnold Schwarzenegger And James Cameron back for another terminator

I gueeesss. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Even though my gut says this one's trouble.

This might just do nobody any good.
You might just be reading too much into the first promo image. The appropriate time to hit “terminate” is yet to come.

Welcome to the human race...
In fairness, these movies do need a "normal" person for all the insanity to bounce off - you have Sarah in the original, John in the second, Kate in the third, Marcus in the fourth, and arguably Kyle in the fifth.

Salvation had promise and was a logical new starting point for new films in this series, but they done f'd it up.

Welcome to the human race...
Maybe? In retrospect, it's questionable as to whether they could've pulled a whole trilogy out of the post-apocalyptic era - the fact that they jump straight into John winning the war at the very start of Genisys (to say nothing of what happens to him as the film progresses) almost seems like an inspired move that understands his character's relative lack of depth and the limits on telling a post-Judgment Day narrative (seeing as it'd all have to end with the big victory and sending Kyle back anyway, unless it also went on to show him sending back the T-800 and then...well, what apparently happened to his future self in T3). Between Salvation and sending Kyle back, you could technically tell stories, but they'd all seem a bit too much like wheel-spinning really.

As I've probably said before, Salvation never appealed to me at all, not just because it was sans Arnie, but because I don't find the whole post-apocalypse world that interesting on its own. The future coming back to terrorise the present - that's interesting. That world on its own - I don't care.

_____ is the most important thing in my life…
I was Enrique in high school spanish class because of a Terminator 2 deep cut.

I'm too attached to being a kid and loving an Ahnold I knew nothing about for these franchises to work for me. The Predator and its abundance of humor will surely be the next thing to break my little heart.

I really want this project to work. But I am very skeptical at this point. If James Cameron is to direct it himself, I would be less skeptical. Actually, I'd be hopeful the movie will be a giant hit.
