Best pandemic, apocalyptic survival films

“I was cured, all right!”
Watched It Comes at Night three years ago, and really liked. Don't remember much though.

The Flu (2013) Can't tell you if it's good yet. I'm planning watch this film next weekend.

Outbreak, 28 Days Later, the often overlooked Cassandra Crossing, and Contagion (plus the infomercial extra that comes on the dvd - do a search on Vimeo for 'Contagion: How a Virus Changes the World')

I liked Andromeda Strain but having that baby bawl for such a massive portion of the movie was annoying. Plus, if my boss ever patronizingly prodded me in the forehead, I'd break his arm.

Quarantine was also pretty good.

Oh and Satan Bug was good also, but that's more of a threat to unleash the globe eating pestilence.

And how could I have forgotten Twelve Monkeys!

Watching Virus 1980 today...
That ought to cheer anyone up....

This movie was such a scary movie in my childhood. I was so freaked out by this thing. When I saw it years later as an adult, it paled in comparison to what I saw through a child's eyes, but it remains a classic. Not quite Planet of the Apes classic-y, but up there IMO.

When they have a cowboy, they want a poet.
They'll say "I don't care if he's a poet or cowboy, so long as he's a nice guy. But oh, I'm so attracted to that bad guy over there."
Understand this last part, and you'll get them all.

We've gone on holiday by mistake
The book World War Z seems appropriate right now.

Whoa. That trailer was really great!

This was one of my top 3 favorite roles by Brad Pitt. MAN that is nuts! LOL!

Such a great film of any kind, not just a "great apocalyptic film".....

12 Monkeys, The Flu and Contagion are all great under the circumstances.

Survives years with a dog. Dies after one day with a women.

Great movie!
It's the tone of this that cracks me up!

Ermagerhd, lol....

Maybe not all pandemic related but these are all in the right ballpark I think:

28 days later
The Road
Shaun of the Dead
The Rover (seriously underrated film)
The Book of Eli
Children of Men
The Quiet Earth
Delicatessen

I've seen three of that list, The Road, The Book of Eli and Children of Men. Two I have to watch again, especially The Road. The Book of Eli is one of my favorites, and I'm not a religious person.

Does Life (2017) count?

Stupid plot, no scientists would be THIS knuckleheaded, but anyway...
WARNING: "Life (2017)" spoilers below
it's still a global threatening life form.

“I was cured, all right!”
Here it is one of my favorities "apocalyptic survival film":

If you like this, check it out Posetitel muzeya (1989) and Gadkie lebedi (2006)
All films directed by Konstantin Lopushanskiy - great director (he worked as production assistant in Tarkovsky's Stalker).
