Moon is a masterpiece, taxi driver is magnificent too I want to mention memento okay it's not about loneliness per say but the guy is incredibly lonely and we the viewer can see it even if he can't.

You might like the movie "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas if you haven't seen it... Kinda reminds me of "Taxi Driver" updated in the 90s... I'd say it's his best role, too.



Doesn't look like anyone's mentioned Punch Drunk Love. It's an Adam Sandler movie, but is not a comedy in any way. It's actually a very dramatic and sad movie about both anxiety and loneliness.
