One hit wonder directors

Tools

Must be doin sumthin right
Like a lot of bands who have the one hit wonder reputation, it's tough to call a director who's made more than two or three movies a one hit wonder without sampling some of their lesser known stuff for yrself (unless you mean purely from a commercial perspective). Calling Jonathan Demme, for example, a one hit wonder is bananas.

Roberto Benigni - Life is Beautiful

One-hit-wonder, at least here in the U.S.

Michel Gondry is a genius of a director. Check out his music videos.

Block party is also quite interesting.

What about Bryan Singer? I know he has directed XMen but for a film as well known and critically acclaimed as The Usual Suspects he really hasn't reached those heights again.

Greg Araki? Mysterious Skin is very good but his other movies seem very average.

Sean Durkin? Martha Marcy May Marlene is an amazing movie. But what else has he done? (He is very young though)
