Black/White Posh School Film.

Can you name this film.

Black/White 1950s/40s. About a young boy being bullied by a elder boy. Boarding School for posh boys. The young boy must serve the elder boy, in a master/slave role; young boy rebels and is forced to stand in front of a open fireplace, where he passes out and is burned. Elder boy is expelled from the school as a result.

Not seen it for donkey's yonks so not entirely sure it fits but I'll toss Tom Brown's School Days out there just in case. Two versions from your time period: 1940 and 1951.

Ghost In The Machine
I'll second Chypmunk's post for Tom Brown's School Days. I seem to recall the open fireplace scene.
