In the meantime: Taxi Driver

I dug it like a shovel.

King Kong (1933) Pretty good, for such an old movie, with the exception of Kong's grinning close-up, it made me laugh every time. I appreciated the job Jackson has done on the remake even more after seeing this.

I, Robot - is this a kids film? Surely not meant to be taken seriously? I thought it was laughably bad in every possible way. And Will Smith in the shower is really something I could have happily lived my whole life without seeing...

Why cause I gave it a 5/5, so because of that I have to be considering the movie a classic?

sorry double post

Well it doesn't seem logical to give a perfect score to anything less than a classic that's all. To me that means ou thought it was flawless.

Avoid. Please.

I was afraid of that...

Cinderella Man (2005, Ron Howard)

2.5/5

Not bad.

'Nice' looking in a typical Howard way. The A-list cast (plus Paddy Considine...Hooray!...who's sadly underused...boo!) hit their marks but nothing stands out, apart from some excellent boxing scenes, to drag this much above TV movie fare.

Just because something is perfect does not mean it is classic

Walk the Line 8/10

Top quality film, Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are really believeable as Johnny Cash and June Carter.

Wow, how many films do you consider to be perfect then?

The Killer
What a piece of dramatic crap. If you're gonna' let the box tell me it's got the most bullets in movie history then let it be so. Don't just half-ass that crap. That's a serious statement that gets people like me all giddy with excitement. I go home and turn it way up leaning forward in my chair waiting to see bullets fly but I don't get to see that. Instead I watch some retard, John Woo, blind some lady with the muzzle heat, or whatever I didn't mean to get all technical, and then it just gets all sappy from there. I object on the grounds of malarky. MALARKY I SAY!

Freakin... Uh... Undead

Some serious guts and blood if you're a freakin wuss'. There's a cowboy, or fisherman, or whatever, who could have been badass if the actor was different. He had all the generic plugs that would have worked to his advantage without the ability to pull them off. And, you all should know how I feel about boobies by now. If you're gonna' tease me by showing some bra action at the beginning I better be seein' dos' deer' tangs' by the end. You know what I mean? Dag' gom'.

I always thought it was the other way round, like, just because something is a classic, doesn't mean it is perfect...

True. But on those terms, if it is perfect then it has to be a classic. Doesn't it?

I don't think Thursday's disputing that.
