Hotel with suicides in the same room

Tools

Looking for the name of a film made probably in the sixties about a hotel that has had a suicide in the same room every Friday evening. A man comes to investigate by staying in the room, and looking out of the window, there is a woman across the courtyard who hypnotizes him into killing himself. The film might have been Finnish.

Can't think of any Finnish film that even remotely fits the description. Honestly, it doesn't sound like something done in Finland during the '60s.
I saw it on television in Sweden in the 1970s

I don't know, but it sounds good.

should be in black and white though.

I think it was in black and white

How do you remember that it was every Friday specifically?
Could it not have been every Thursday?
or every alternate Friday?
I just remember certain things .Someone told me the gist of it

And you don't think it's Dr. M?

And you're sure it was a film?

Was it in color or black and white?

Do you remember anything else about other characters or what any of them look like?

I just searched elonet (a Finnish site with a database that should contain every Finnish movie) and there was no matching film made between 1900 and 1979 (my search wasn't even strict as the only keyword I searched was suicide). I'd say it's 99% certain that the film in question is not Finnish.

When I followed the link to see what Dr. M was about, it said it was based on a Dr. Mabuse story -- so maybe you saw a different version of the same story?

Maybe it was made for television. I'm not absolutely sure it was Finnish.

Black and white. The man called in to investigate is given a gun, and at one point the woman across the courtyard hypnotizes him into disconnecting the telephone.

No it's a different story
