Maybe I am wrong but Catch Me If You Can had 4 actresses in small roles before they all got big. Always makes me smile when I watch it and see them in those small roles.

Elizabeth Banks
Ellen Pompeo
Jennifer Garner
Amy Adams

It was back before I really cared about movies and actors so maybe they were already big. But I am pretty sure it was before any of them really hit it big.

Not sure I'd agree with Oldman being an unknown either, he'd been critically acclaimed since Sid and Nacy in 1986 and had gotten arguably big biggest ever role the year before in Dracula.

Shakespear films often tend to feature a lot of up and coming names for obvious reasons, never seen it but A Midsummer Nights Dream from 68 had the following all in either their first or second film roles...

Helen Mirren
Ian Holm
Diana Rigg
Judi Dench

No, sorry, only read the title, but same goes for Patricia Arquette..

Not really, she was the "lead" in Ethan Frome but that bombed. True Romance was when she really broke out. That's really when the big indie directors made her the goto lead

Tim Burton (Ed Wood) (1994)
David O Russell (Flirting With Disaster) (1996)
David Lynch (Lost Highway) (1997)
Martin Scorcese (Bringing out the Dead) (1999)

Richard Linklater (Boyhood) (2002-2014)
