Erm, that's as good a summary as you'll get

The humour is just really well-meaning and stylised. It's more about the peculiar adventures of two zoo keeper 'heroes' than outright gags. There's only one standard joke in the whole first series...

Howard: "I can see the headlines now. Howard Moon - colon - explorer".
Vince: "Colon explorer? I think that's got the wrong ring to it."


Mainly its a mixture of surreal circumstances, outlandish (and obviously cheap) design elements, ludicrous mini adventures and daft retro songs. (Yes, they do silly songs. Sometimes they work too . And they always add to the feeling of fuzzy, friendly oddity.)

You can expect: a literary critic with a head like a conker; a long-lost zoo-keeper whose head is made of potent cheese; invasive visits from the God of Jazz; vengeful blobs of bubblegum who don't like being plageurised; and hair-raising trips to monkey hell.
