I watched The Next Three Days because you recommended it, and it's a great movie. I considered it for my ballot, but I just didn't have room for it.

There were several animated movies that I really wanted to include on my list, but I just didn't have room for them. Coco was one of them. Some of the others were Moana, Ernest & Celestine, Wreck-It Ralph, Inside Out, and Home.

Into the Woods is great. I think the only thing that stopped me from putting it on my list is that I saw the live version on Broadway, and the movie pales in comparison to the live version.

That's how I stood in the final tally, which is usually average for me in these countdowns, I think, so I'm fairly well-pleased with how things shook out.

Movies that quite of few MoFos picked or considered or cut that I, too, considered or cut or just plain forgot. When it comes to finally putting my finished list to post here, I usually don't save my "almost" picks, which happened the same way this time. But reading all of the comments here reminded me of the almosts, so here are some we have in common and I'm glad that I wasn't alone in my likes:

This was one fun countdown and half the fun was not being able to guess what would show up, except when it came to the last two and then, maybe!

Yes! Parasite was my #1, and it's my favorite movie of the decade by a lot. A masterpiece. Mad Max was okay. I don't mind its over the top pulpy feel, but I haven't given it much thought since I watched it. My highest rated movie not to make the countdown was The Sisters Brothers, a violent, artsy western by the French director Jacques Audiard, starring John C. Riley and Joaquin Phoenix as the two notorious brothers. My favorite western since 1992's Unforgiven. I had three westerns, including the horror-western Bone Tomahawk.

101 Favorite Movies (2019)

List pretty much broke how I felt it would. Only two from my list I was bummed didn't make the cut that I thought could, the rest I knew probably wouldn't.

Wind River and Dallas Buyer's Club. Also kinda suprised Moneyball didn't make it.

Wind River was the first Taylor Sheridan project I saw. I'm sure Hell or Highwater made the cut on the list I'd have to go back and look at it. He has since blown up with Yellowstone and his other projects. Wind River was really well done to me though.

Dallas Buyer's Club. McConaughey was freaking awesome in that flick and deserved that Oscar to me. His turn in that was hellishly entertaining to me. Butterfly scene is the banner in my profile on here. Love that flick and it's pretty damn timely. Not to get all political but government and Big Pharma haven't been your friend for a long time. Not to break news but even though he wasn't named, nobody was, Fauci was the bad guy in that story/movie. Dude's been a bureaucrat for 40 years.

Had 11 make the list. Only had 4 at 2017 or after if that tells you anything. Wasn't my favorite decade but I think the decade fell off bad into the ladder half which has spilled over to this decade. Hopefully movies can pull themselves out of this funk the 2nd half of this decade. Heres to hoping.

I'd like to take here at least one posting dedicated to Paolo Sorrentino, one of the most notable filmmakers of the last decade, unfortunately he was overlooked within this community. Anyway his most popular film got #244 during this countdown, meaning that not only me voted for it.

People were like "The decade was just kind of blah," but I could have easily listed 50 films I loved and still agonized over cutting films out.

Thrilled to see Parasite take the top spot. I had it at #13 on my ballot, and I have watched it several times. Mino will be disappointed that not only is this not the only Korean film I have seen, but it wasn't the first - Just check the 2000's countdown to see Memories of Murder on my ballot, mister! I also had another Korean film on this countdown as well. Huzzah!

I really like Mad Max: Fury Road, but not enough to put it on my ballot.

Overall a fun and thrilling countdown, and although I already thanked everyone involved, I will thank everyone again!
