I thought the fact that this was The Prestige's thread was a nice touch, but fine.

Michael Bay is the worst thing that has ever happened to the cinema. Megan Fox called him Hitler, and if she meant that both Bay and Hitler abuse their power (Hitler with politics, Bay with money to make films), then she was absolutely right.

Rar, Bay isn't the worst. He's not even as bad as people make out. I'm not a fan or anything but there are at least a couple of his films I wouldn't mind seeing again. He specialises in the action/adventure genre. John McTiernan, John Woo, Peter Berg, Richad Donner and Robert Rodrigues all make the same type of films as Bay, and yet they get a free pass.

I like how you have a very generous sense of humor when it comes to dry statements like "Christopher Nolan is the worst director ever," but way, way more obvious jokes, like "Woo adds doves" are personally offensive.

Chillllll.

Hmmm... I don't see George Lucas mentioned... I thought he was the Ultimate Evil among directors, especially with you folk.

No, it's not.

Superb has a Rainbow Dash avatar. Everything is now a provocation.

He didn't when I replied. Also, he is clearly you. Also, it was still a flat-contradiction.

Also, let's get back on topic, shall we? This is still a usable thread.

Francis Ford Coppola (Godfater trilogy, Apocolypse Now, Dracula)

Wow, this guy gets all the praise in the world but he really sucks, to be honest. Really, are the Godfather films really THAT good? This may come across as an exaggeration, but i'm gonna say what's been on my mind on this forum for a LONG
time...
I agree with that. Francis Ford Coppola is one of the worst directors I've come across. Uwe Boll, as well; Michael Bay makes almost satisfying flicks, but I'd put him on my list, too.

Well I was half joking when I made that post. I don't think he is the worst, but he is somebody I would argue is a bit overrated. Godfather films are decent, but that's about it really.

There are probably directers out there who have made schlockier films then Michael Bay, but what really makes me hate him is that he is given so much money to make movies, he puts it to waste, and the films STILL make enormous profits. There may be worse directors, but none with so much power as Bay. He represents everything wrong with Hollywood today.

Good whiskey make jackrabbit slap de bear.
I like Michael Bay, because you know what to expect from him. When it comes to story and character development, none of his films work in those areas (except maybe Pearl Harbour, which I really liked). But when it comes to blowing ***** up and action spectacles, Bay remains consistent. His films simply entertain.
