Certainly do Mr P

Yeah looks like you've gotta be 'social' to crew. Didn't spot an in-game option to do it. Prob wouldn't work anyway, as online is flaaakeyyy at the mo

Does look promising tho, esp the mission stuff. Even CTF is fun in this environment . Struggled to get many multi-missions running last night tho, beyond the 'lobby' of the world itself. Even got kicked for quitting a 'running' game which to my eyes was stuck in menu spasm. Next server seemed a bit perkier luckily, and I pissed off some lawyer collective by winning races. Made it seem worth it

Finished here. It's been fun.
put a few hours in GTA online. still kinda buggy but at least it's working now.

Umm, possible crew emblem?

(Cannae make bigger right now coz, y'know, emblems are broken )

*EDIT* - screengrabbage...

Finished here. It's been fun.
ehhh not really feeling online too much. I think I'm gonna stick to single-player for the time being. I still got a bunch of things to do there.

Online is still pretty damn broken. Last night, when it worked at all, the best I could get was an operating map, but no missions. (They'd load, but then immediately tell me I'd failed).

It is kinda fun just to mess around doing some minor levelling up tho. I spent most of my time trying to rear-end other 'innocent' players with my heli . (Which possibly explains why the second time I got in a heli, I was switfly shot down by a jet )

---

Still, says a lot about the core game that when I was 'forced' to play it, I didn't get much further than the traintrack by Trevor's house. Just messing around trying to jump over & into freight trains, while the sunlight moved over the scenery, kept me amused for an hour

\m/ Fade To Black \m/
Online is still playing me up aswell. I have successfully played in some missions and races with my crew but then its not letting me join the party etc. I have upgraded my car, insured it and the number for the insurance company is in my phone. I go offline and once I come back online the car has gone, the number in my phone has gone and so has the money I paid for the car with. This has happened to me twice. Also I have had 10,000 dollars go missing from my account.

Apart from that annoyance I have had a good laugh online, I just wish they could sort it out as I dont want to buy upgrades for another car and go through the modding etc to have it disappear.

My friend has had his character disappear 3 times and he has had to make a new one etc three times. I think if that happened to me that many times I wouldnt bother playing for a while.

I will try out Online mode once I finish cavorting about in Single Player...

Yeah I lost my first car with all the free add-ons. Not that bothered, but would def be narked if my character or a big chunk of cash vanished.

I see that they're streamlining a lot of the periphery stuff to help with the load. The stats page on social immediately got gutted, and I think they removed the chance to edit your character's appearance.

Would really like missions to work reliably though, as I reckon things like the 'escort a VIP' / 'capture the package' / chase-the-bikes-with-a-jet stuff could be fun with a crew. Heists doubly-so

Actually starting to be impressed with how well it renders. Doesn't have the splendour of offline, but the fact that I could track erratic individuals from a massive height in the heli, at speed, with hardly any pop-in, and some decent vibe to boot, is impressive.

Having the whole spread of that world means the race track designer could well be fun. I'm thinking 'minis' on the golf course for a start

Found this simple tip list useful. Didn't realise griefer players get a bounty on them that marks them out on the map as red. And simple touches like making sure you save on exit helps minimise frustration.

Gah, got caught in a cycle of violence online...

Came out of the 'pause' menu to find a guy in a suit whaling on me. We managed to kill each other simultaneously. I wrongly assumed some random items in my weapon wheel meant we were now in a private deathmatch. Killed the first player I saw assuming it was my suited nemesis. It wasn't.

It was a righteously aggrieved player who then set a bounty on my head and pursued me (along with several others) for half an hour. It got to the point where I was hiding behind a post shooting a succession of empty guns at him. (Tis quite annoying how much hospital cash you lose when being hounded, and how tricksy it can be to sneak off into an online match, but I guess I kinda asked for it in this case . Plus playing the quarry is kinda a fun challenge!)

---

Still levelling away merrily, between the slower groove of offline. Figure it'd be good to have a base set up for when heists open up (you need one for planning). And levelling is tempting to unlock more game modes (although you can just drive out to fun ones and join a session).

I'm yet to succeed at the 'Top Fun' jets vs bikes mission, but it is pretty classy to bomb over hills while the missiles rain . Gotta love how the mission screen plays 80s cheese too . (I'm now hooked on Mirror radio incidentally, to get the full Vice City vibe )

---

Oddity: Pretty sure I carjacked Dan Houser (chunky bald brit, who legged it )

Finished here. It's been fun.
I really love the freaks and strangers missions in this game, as well as the random events that occur throughout the map. There is so much content in the singleplayer, i'm about 32 or so hours in already and I'm not even done with the main story yet.

there's a frog in my snake oil
True NB. Ideally I'd like to unlock all the businesses too, as the property missions seem to get more storified as they go along. Helped an out of shape dock worker take on the Lost last night to save his neice.

---

I'll be online with headset tonight from about 9 GMT. Anyone up for some carnage?

Still playing single player, but I haven't had time the past 3-4 days to turn the console on...hopefully this weekend!

there's a frog in my snake oil
Just get by on 4hrs kip Mikey (Worked for Maggie Thatcher. And she didn't start any turf wars or anything )

---

So they''re giving everyone half a million to make up for the glitchery. Shouldn't actually break the game, as still need to level to get good weapons etc. Just means there'll be a lot of yuppie gangsters. A mob of Michael-sons, with gaudy cars n pads

---

Thinking online a bit quantity over quality in some ways, but liking the carnage of the open world, esp now the semi-storified contacts are opening up more abilities and professions. And some of the point to point races are epic

there's a frog in my snake oil
Races have been a blast recently. Def a fun way to level. You seem to still get good rewards for lower positions, and even if you're taken out by traffic or carnage (or some ludicrous change of course) that's kinda what makes them great too (for all the times you ride those things instead ). Def prefer when they turn catchup off - nothing worse than being ahead and feeling your speed being limited. The slipstream function should be enough.

Anyways these are a few that had some freeflowing, barrel-rolling lunacy for me recently...

Quick Getaway
The underground motorbike escape from the main game, with added overground sections. Reco a street bike for this, as the muddy tunnels are bookended by big reservoir curves and some street racing. Fun jump into a lake to round it all off in style

Gone Fishin' / A Sign of Things to Come
Some hairy offroad point-to-points. Lots of leaps and surprise changes of direction etc. (Not unheard of to find a competitor looping over your head from right to left, having misjudged the route )

In the Grove / Over the Hump
Some flat-line inner city action that's fun to Feltz around in, and a simple bit of canal-jumpy action.

Through the Grapevine
This one was perhaps more pretty touring country meets endurance race - but if switchback mountain A-roads are your thing it's worth the trip.

there's a frog in my snake oil
As much as I'm loving the retro-80s aching-hipster vibe of Mirror Park radio, and lord I can even find a place for 'We've got a great big convoy' when out in the sticks, there's nothing like a bit of SoulWax for a late night chase

Also helps with a late-shift at work it turns out

A system of cells interlinked
Yep, Soulwax is one of my favorites, and I find myself changing over to it whenever i flip the station. Also, took a me a minute to figure out what stations kept vanishing. You get a conservative goof talk station in the sticks, and a far-left goof when in the city!

Ahh, is that what's going on. I wondered what was happening to that outback chat one. 'Beyond Insemination', homely adverts, and all that.

@teeter - Xmas would be a good time. Some time when you don't have to work

The People's Republic of Clogher
I drove past Beckett's old school the other day.

Sadly it wasn't at 90mph in a stolen car.
