Definitely, definitely. The nightmares I got from that flick... Even a shuddering Smilie could not possibly convey what I'm feeling right now, just remembering.

Man, I really hope Freddy Vs. Jason doesn't get made. I used to be dying for it, but after Jason X.... I know they won't make something good.

If Freddy Krueger ever comes back, Wes Craven better do it again. Wes Craven's New Nightmare was dynamite, but I was unhappy with the ending.

I thought it was really good, myself--I even liked the ending. I don't think that flick got the props it deserved, at all--many people just thought it'd be another crappy-a*s sequel.

The movie did make me want to be a screenwriter. I didn't know what an actual script was like until I saw Heather Langenkamp reading the Wes Craven's New Nightmare screenplay in the movie. I've always wanted to work on a Freddy Krueger film. When I was five, I wanted to play Freddy in the next Nightmare movie to come out. I started coming up with these new ideas for sequels -- Nightmare 6: The Dream Kiss, Nightmare 7: The Dream Doctor, Nightmare 8: The Dream Class, Nightmare 9: The Dream Slut -- or whatever, as long as it had "Dream" in the title. When I met Robert Englund (Freddy) in 1992, my mom told him that I always wanted to be in a Nightmare movie. Robert was delighted to hear that, but I remember feeling embarrassed that she told him.

That's cute. Seriously cute.

Fun fact: Did you know that, way back when, Peter Jackson was brought to Hollywood to write a Freddy movie? It never panned out, but the connections he made during that time were part of what led to him getting the LOTR gig.

You've gotta fill me in. When did this happen? What what his idea for a Freddy film? I know that a guy named Peter Briggs wrote a spectacular Freddy Vs. Jason script a long time ago and it was never made, but I never heard about Peter Jackson.

Sorry, Jase--I didn't see this.

Well, as near as I can remember, after Dead Alive came out, New Line hired Jackson to write a script for NOES 6. They actually brought him to Hollywood for a few weeks, and he stayed with one of their producers during this time. He had a good relatioships with the New Line head honchos, but Jackson's script never got made.

So when Miramax passed on making three LOTR films, Jackson took his idea to his old friends at New Line and, wary of rejection, pitched it as two films to Robert Shaye, the CEO. When Jackson was done, Shaye said something to the effect of, "I don't get it. If there are three books, why are you making only two films?"

And so the deal was made. I believe Miramax and New Line wound up sharing the producing credits.

Nightmare 6, huh? That became Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. Hmm... very interesting. Wonder what his storyline was.

I'm very curious about that, myself. I've heard that Jackson was really happy with it. It might be floating around on the Net, somewheres...

I've been checking but I can't find anything. It's unusual for something Freddy related like that to escape me. Maybe I should look through some of my own NOES material for any possible clues. I'll post it if I find anything cool.

Excellent. I'd love to hear any info you find.

Nevermind what I said. You are way too young!

These are horror movies that I can and have watched dozens and dozens of times. Not in any particular order:

1. Candyman - will creep the hell out of you, good luck using a mirror after seeing this.

2. Texas Chainsaw Massacare - Low budget feel makes it extra scary.

3. Nightmare on Elm Street - Classic

4. Halloween - Classic

5. Jason Goes to Hell - Lots of sex, gore, blood, ****, and violence, the epitomy of a fun horror flick. In my opinion, maybe, the best in the series.

6. Halloween: H2O - Not quite as good as the first, but better than any of the other sequels. Revitalized the Haloween franchise.

7. Child's Play- Actually its pretty freaky and a pretty good storyline.

8. Children of the Corn - creepy little boys and girls

9. Joyride - Maybe it's not exactly a horror, but masterful directed, intelligent screenplay too.

10. People Under the Stairs - Probalbly seen it like fifteen times, it's creepy, funny, and really innovative.

I have a fondness for this genre, movies of late have been dissapointment so lets do a refresher on some good oldies:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Amityville Horror (1-> the reset are crap)
Thirteen Ghosts (1960)
Jaws (terrorising for over 25 years, has to say something)
Friday the 13th (The original)
American Werewolf in London, An (1981)
Children of the Corn (1984)
Creepshow
Wolfen (1981)

Just a few....

sounds more like a erotic (translation porno) horror movie, obviously the best kind you can have

7. Child's Play- Actually its pretty freaky and a pretty good storyline.
LOL that movie i saw when i was eight and it was funny as. I laughed all through it, it had a few freaky scenes but more of a comedy than horror

My 2 faves are: Blair Witch
i agree with that one, although around here most people didnt like it, i was one of those few that did. Although i cant say the same for Blair Witch 2: Book Of Shadows which had gore but was very pathetic, it didnt live up to my expectations

The Future Ed Wood
the wicker man was rather good i thought, mainly because it had christopher lee. good ending
